Our heart certainly goes out to the people caught up in recent disasters. I have been involved in disaster relief myself, and know how heart-rending it can be. But still, this question needs to be asked…

Last week’s “Super-storm” – the worst ever recorded on the East
Coast and the financial center of the USA – was just one in a long
line of “historic” catastrophes to hit the United States in the last
11 years. It follows right on the heels of one of the worst droughts
ever recorded in America which occurred this summer – the most
severe in more than half a century.

In the past I have asked readers to ponder whether the Lord has
lifted His hand of protection off the USA more and more, beginning
with 9-11. Below is an astonishing list of major disasters that have
occurred one after the other in America since 2001:-

2001 – TWIN TOWERS – The worst ever attack on American soil.
The most devastating event in living memory.

2005 – HURRICANE KATRINA – The most destructive and expensive
hurricane in US history.

2007 – MASSACRE AT VIRGINIA TECH – The worst school shooting
in the history of the United States.

2007 – HOUSING CRISIS – Start of the worst (by far) housing crash
in US history. Millions lose their homes across the nation.

2008 – FINANCIAL PANIC – The beginning of the worst economic
crisis since the Great Depression. (-Still ongoing).

2011 – TORNADO OUTBREAK – The largest outbreak of tornadoes
ever recorded. (Also the costliest and most devastating).

2012 – DROUGHT – The worst and most extensive US drought in
more than half a century.

2012 – SUPER-STORM – A 1000-mile-wide hurricane that slams
into New York and the East Coast harder than any ever recorded.

QUESTION – Is God allowing this terrible shaking in order to
wake the nation from its deadly spiritual slumber? There was a
time when America spread righteousness in the earth. But today
the USA is the # 1 exporter of pornography and youth rebellion
and homosexuality to the whole world. Does this have anything
to do with what is happening?

America is the “leader” in so many things. Are there other reasons
why she might be under judgment? (It is not that the USA is
“worse” than many other nations – but rather that she is a ‘leader’ –
influencing the whole earth with these things. It is this place of
“leadership” that makes America a unique case). We would be
very interested in your thoughts, my friends.

-PLEASE COMMENT on this topic below-

God bless you all. – Andrew Strom.

Terrible things always happen in a fallen world. If it is a jugdement of God can only be answered by divine revelation. (Not by the vote of the commentators.) If we see judgement in the Bible it is usually annonced as such in advance! If it is not we can only give the answer Jesus gave when he was asked about a terrible thing that happend in his days:

“Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Lk 13,4

    Hi Andrew,
I was just wondering since it is not the first time that you mention it. How can 911 be classified as a “judgement” disaster if it is common knowlledge by now that It was a self inflicted wound by America itself? All the evidance is there for all to see! And what about the financial manipulations? In the natural we are living in a broken world, for the rest it is all our own doing. Do not turn a blind eye on the influence of the Free Masons and Illuminati. We spiritualise too much and forget that man is doing most of what we call “Acts of God” when He was not involved at all. Judgement will come, but for now we are still under GRACE. Thank God for that. Blessings.

Tomorrow the world will change again…regardless of who is voted in as the next President of the united States. The severity of change, and the quickness of it, WILL depend on who is elected. And in the wake of the election, we are going to see a continued uptick in disasters for America, more catastrophic than any of us here have seen in our lifetimes or our parents lifetimes, and their parents lifetimes. We are witnessing the death of America as a world leader.

When you are debt free, when you hold onto nothing in this world but Jesus our Lord, you are able to stand back and see the truth of this world, the gluttony for riches, the wanton drive for pleasure, the perversity of lies becoming truth and vice-versa, it comes as no surprise that this all (destruction) must occur. America is past her revival time, I believe their is only time left for individual revival…and even that time is running short.

Time will tell. And the clock is ticking LOUDLY.

    Johan, yes and yes.

We must all be so very careful with the things of God. Let’s not attribute to God the things he hasn’t done or isn’t doing, yet. We know the works of man will fail, the more so as he rejects the Master, Jesus, and attempts to be as gods himself. This is the chief work of our time, the throwing over of Christ Jesus kingship in favour of man. Secularism, and that Christless Christianity Humanism.

Let’s also be mindful of the Scripture which says judgement will begin at the House of God. That’s the Body, the living stones. While much is happening in our time, prophecies fulfilled and movements in the institutional church hitherto unthought of, I would be very hard pressed to agree the House of God is yet under judgement.

We must also consider there are automatic natural consequences of sin, apart from God’s willed judgements. The simplest of these is, if we don’;t work we won’t eat! Till the soil or go hungry.

  8. There is overwhelming evidence that Hurricane Sandy ‘FRANKENSTORM’ WAS Man-made using HAARP/Chemtrails?

What is HAARP? HAARP is a weapon of mass destruction. Radio Waves strong enough to cause earthquakes are controlled by the U.S. military. If you do not believe this than click here and you will be like me, SHOCKED.

There will come a time when Jacob will say we are safe in our unwalled cities and at that time it shall be given to Daniel’s feet of iron mixed with clay to trample on many nations, but the Lord will keep that time short.

God’s judgment includes giving us the leaders we want. However I cannot see a single Godly congressperson. Even local leaders are corrupt in both soul and spirit. As is true with individuals we end up with the judgment we deserve; we reap what we sow. American churches are pitiful strongholds of political inaction and spiritual impotency–laughinstocks.

  11. Sheeja John Nov 5th 2012

America is not only under judgment, but is also being set as an example for the rest of the world, to take warning. It has been rightly stated that ‘USA is the # 1 exporter of pornography and youth rebellion and homosexuality to the whole world’.

    1 Cor. 10:7-11
“Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play.”

Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day.

Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents. Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

    Colossians 3:5-6
“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

  14. The following message is self-explanatory:

Voice of the Kingfisher speaks out …from a different perspective

    by Elinor Montgomery
    Nineveh or New York?

    October 29, 2012

Nineveh was the capital of the Assyrian Empire, and the city, which the message of Jonah caused to turn to God. It was the New York of its day in size and the world commercial center of civilization. You could say that it was the World Trade Center of its time.

Time had moved on some 150 years after Jonah when we see that Nineveh had fallen away to become a city full of lies, robbery and prostitution. It was about to be weakened and conquered because of the flood waters from a river, which ran through the city, overflowing its banks and breaking down its flood-gates and its wall, allowing the enemy to enter in. Has the removal of the Bible at the entrance ports of America not broken down her outer borders of protection, with New York being the gateway to the nation for immigrants?

It was time for the prophet Nahum to come onto the scene, prophesying approximately three years before Nineveh’s fall. It was a short span of time, about 150 years between its becoming a godly city, to which God had sent Jonah to preach, and becoming a harlot spiritually to Him, for which Nahum gave the warning of judgment. Is this any different from 19th century America and the itinerate preachers who came to preach truth to her people from pulpits aflame with righteousness, while education rested in the hands of a clergy, which taught that morality and virtue were important issues?

At this time, Alexis de Tocqueville, a 19th century French statesman, historian and social philosopher traveled the land of America and came to a profound conclusion. He wrote that America was great because America was good, and if America ever should cease to be good, then America would cease to be great (reference: America’s God and Country – by William J. Federer).

Somewhere, between the time he wrote those words and the moral cess-pool, which we see today in America some 150 years later, such as that which existed in Nineveh, some 150 years after Jonah in the day of Nahum’s prophecy, de Tocqueville’s words are becoming a reality for America, just as Nahum’s words became a reality for Nineveh. Nahum warned that judgment was coming her way because of her wanton lust as a harlot and her lure and seduction as a mistress of sorceries, enslaving the nation by her prostitution and her witchcraft. As a city, which had been turned to God, it had taken another turn backward in the vilest kind of adultery, which led to her departure from the Lord (see Hosea 1:2).

What could have been a worse insult to our God than allowing the blight of the United Nations to settle into the city of New York, the gateway to the nation, setting up a house of prostitution and cults, ruled by Babylon the Great, mother of all harlots? At the same time the nation removed the Bibles from her borders. There could be no greater door-opener to Satan and his army of evil spirits than that of the U.N. It has allowed that little dictator, Ahmadinejad, who is bent on destroying Israel and America, to land on American soil and begin to spread his vile propaganda by television throughout the entire nation. This is not to mention the hundreds of other enemies of America who land regularly to meet at the U.N. for the purpose of discussing ways and means by which American sovereignty can be destroyed.

Do not think that judgment is not going to fall on this city as it fell on Nineveh. Already her World Trade Towers are gone and the floods are due to roll in over the city tonight, just as they rolled in over Nineveh to initiate her demise. The stock market was closed to the tune of some billions of dollars of cost; houses will be destroyed and property damage will occur to the tune of some more billions of dollars. Electrical power failures will cause businesses to close in one of the most populated centers in all of America, with the cost of lost sales amounting to billions of dollars. Is it possible the lights of Broadway will dim and then go out entirely as the flood waters spread their damage?

When God strikes, He knows exactly where and how to do it. “Behold, I am against you,” says the Lord of hosts; “I will lift your skirts over your face, I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame. I will cast abominable filth upon you, make you vile, and make you a spectacle (Nahum 3:5-6).”

The nation is being judged for her harlotries and sorceries, which she is pouring out to other nations, so that she can corrupt them with her commerce, her witchcraft and her multi-cultism. Has the sorcery of Harry Potter not been pumped into the children throughout the entire nation and the world, making billions of dollars on sorcery while corrupting young minds with such a powerful form of Satanism? If the east coast receives her dues this week, hopefully, a big hole will be struck into the side of Halloween rituals, which could prevent another night of satanic worship for millions of children and leave the commercial world with a Halloween stock of ‘unsellables’.

Nahum tells us the Lord avenges and is furious about this kind of national sin. The weatherman tells us we are in for a ‘Frankenstorm’ of storms. Nahum tells us that the Lord will not acquit the wicked, but rather cut off the carved images of the cults we have chosen to love with multiculturalism, and He will dig a grave for this nation for being so vile. “I will cut off the carved image and the molded image. I will dig your grave, for you are vile (Nahum 1:14).” The weatherman tells us the damage is going to go all the way to Chicago. Could this be the October surprise, which has come from God, Himself, and not from the Chicago man?

The prophet describes the city after the judgment – she is empty, desolate and wasted, with hearts melting, knees shaking, much pain in every side of her people and all their faces drained of color. The harlot has sold out her own nation, destroying families as she goes by her sorceries. Nahum could well have been preaching to America; for her harlotry is the same as that of Nineveh and the judgment could well equal hers in the immediate days ahead.

As opposed to this judgment, the prophet tells us that the Lord will restore the excellence of His true inheritance, which America could have received if she had not had a wandering eye for the idolatry of Islam, along with that of Communism, Hinduism, Judaism and even Christianity, all of which have emptied out the true church and ruined her vine branches. She is about as dead in her tomb of religion as she can get, but God will revive her as she awaits the kiss of her Prince. He will restore her to the perfection He always wanted from His apostolic church and His bride of mankind (see Nahum2:2).

But as for the judgment upon the city – There is a multitude of slain, a great number of bodies, countless corpses – they stumble over the corpses – because of the multitude of harlotries of the seductive harlot, the mistress of sorceries, who sells nations through her harlotries, and families through her sorceries (Nahum 3:3-4).

Whether or not these disasters are man-made, God has always used a people’s enemies, and nature itself to bring judgment.

I live in an area in NJ that was hard hit by “Sandy”. I only had to live without the luxuries of electricity and phone and internet for a few days. Others lost everything. Many others.

Now we are faced with the possibility of another storm coming Thursday. Will people repent? I don’t know. As long as there are people spouting “government conspiracy” then why should they? It’s taking their eyes off of where they should be right now. Getting right with the Lord.

The harvest is ripe right now. All any Christian has to do is read the prophets, and Revelation to see that we HAVE been warned, and should be warning others. No election will stop the labor pains.

This passage says it all if Israel is replaced with America. The way God dealt with Israel here in Isaiah is the same today. An example for us today.

Isa 9:10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
    Isa 9:11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
Isa 9:12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Isa 9:13 For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
Isa 9:14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
Isa 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
Isa 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
Isa 9:17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Isa 9:18 For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
Isa 9:19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
Isa 9:20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
Isa 9:21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

To repent means to do the opposite of what was done. To come back to God and respect His covenant, His laws as a nation (which is different than personal salvation by repentance through the blood of Jesus). His judgment, or lack of protective hand over the nation(s) will only be as severe as the repentance seen. There really can’t be a national repentance, though, without an individual repentance. It’s those who profess to be Christians by and large that are missing this element of repentance in their walk.

Yes, there are those who are in their prayer closets, but the main portion has lost the capacity to be stirred to repentance, prayer, and praise to God through Jesus. The problem is pride. Ask anyone who does not go to church or homechurch what the main thing they dislike about Christians they know or see regularly. The answer is pride.

  17. Yes, the USA is under the judgment of God, because they left God.
They did not blessed Israel, so there is coming more judgment, watch it and you will see it.
This president(Obama) is not a christian and Romney is also not a christian he believes in one of the most dangerous cults, there is.
So we will see what happens with the USA. I think there are coming more woe’s.

  18. Absolutely! Every person and every country is under God’s judgment all the time. We are either judged righteous or wicked. We either reap blessings or curses. The reason it is so difficult to tell the so-called church from the world is because the church left true Christianity behind a long time ago. Our country has murdered MILLIONS of babies in their mothers’ wombs, in addition to the pornography and violence. I believe we will be attacked from without and within and the dollar will completely collapse. It is heartbreaking to see my beloved country’s destruction before my very eyes.

  19. Pamela Nov 5th 2012

How can God punish an entire nation when the Bible clearly says that each person will pay for their own sins? Also in the OT it says that God would not judge people again by flooding. How can what happen in NYC be judgment from God when it goes against His word? If Jesus bore the wrath of all sin, how can nations bear it at the same time? There is no such thing as an entity like a nation when it comes to salvation, sin and the like. People sin and reap for their own sins individually, not a nation, after Christ died. Coll 3:5-6 is NOT dealing with a nation but individuals. This is talking about what each person will have happen. The entire population of the USA is not in sin or agrees with the direction that the country is going. Both sides of the aisle bring up righteous points even though a good number only mention a few things when it comes to so-called judgment. I also find it interesting that depending on the political leanings both sides will call judgment for the US because of decisions they do not agree with.

I will say this again. There is nothing in the Bible that says that Christ died for nations. He died for people. A nation is the sum total of its people, not an entity unto itself that can be saved or lost. I also refuse to reap anything that the leaders of the US do. Whatever they decide will be on them. Jesus has my back. My trust is in Him and Him alone. He will never fail me nor make me reap for the sins of other people. I trust those scriptures in the Bible. I grew up thinking that I would pay for what others in my family line did because of generational curses. This is WRONG WRONG WRONG. My lineage changed the day I became born again. Scriptures states this throughout the NT. This is why I cannot accept nations being judged for the sins of a few.

We have friends in NYC that had nothing to do with the decisions on Wall Street or anything else. They are born again Christians that are spirit filled and love the Lord and are walking out what they know in Him. I just wonder if people that are so quick to scream judgment about the US regarding what is happening in NYC would do so if they had loved ones that they cared about living there. Again unless someone can give me scripture stating that God is judging entire nations because of the sins of a few I will change my mind.

I do accept that wrong decisions will always produce wrong results. There have been plenty of wrong choices made by our politicians and those in the financial world that have caused horrible problems THAT GOD HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH. Until the love of money and power are rooted out of the hearts of those that lead AND THOSE THAT FINANCE THEM we will continue to see this madness in the US and in every other country.

THE ONLY THING THAT WILL CHANGE THIS IS THE GOSPEL. If God supposedly kills people that Jesus paid the price for because of the decisions of misguided or power hungry leaders THEY WILL NOT HEAR THE GOSPEL. This makes no biblical sense to me.

I will not mention the madness of a good number of the TV preachers and their damnable doctrines. AT THE SAME TIME the entire body of Christ will not reap what they do. We have the Holy Spirit that teaches us what is right and wrong according to 1 John and John. We do not have to be sucked into what is happening IN SOME CIRCLES of the body of Christ. Be careful when you generalize about the body of Christ. What you see on TV, read in Charisma Magazine or see/listen to in other media is not the sum total of the body of Christ. THANK GOD FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT. He is the perfect teacher.

  20. Definitely judgment, but in judgment, let us have mercy on those who are affected and use this as an opportunity to speak the gospel to them and live it before them. Question: Is the judgment upon those who reject Christ, or among those of us who claim to know Him? Those who reject Him are of “the world” and they are already under God’s wrath. Is He using Hurricane Sandy to shake the church out of her sleep? I pray so, ceaselessly.

Thank you Andrew. I saw this…God’s hand lifting off America!!! In a separate time, while sound asleep recently, the Lords voice said in my spirit, “I am going to bring down all those leaders who have mislead my people.” He then showed me a foundation of “new age” crumbling, and then said, “it will not stand.” The Lord then showed me the pastor’s and ministry leaders who have been warned, but felt to continue in their own path, whether teaching this Holy Laughter, Drunken in the spirit, Visualization, and all you mentioned here Andrew. “Sins pile up,” and God’s Judgement is here!!!!
God is getting ready to reveal a whole lot more…people get ready. He is shaking EVERYTHING that is NOT of HIM.
At the same time, Praise God through this. He has given us the choice. Those who stood will remain standing. Through this we will see the definition of REPENTANCE!! Either you are for Him or against Him. And No One Can Stand Against The Almighty God.
    Bless you Andrew.

  22. And you didn’t even mention abortion!! Maybe God is beginning to allow America to start experiencing the fruit of her doings. Will He allow her to come under a cruel taskmaster? Have we finally driven Him to the end of His patience? I read 2 Peter Chapter 3 and the hand writing is on the wall. Judgment begins at the house of God. Christians must stop being “purpose” driven and become Jesus driven! I have been a missionary in Kenya for almost 10 years…I have watched in shock at the downhill slide I have seen my once wonderful country taking. God has allowed this leadership from hell to reign. Will people wake up and LOOK up? No matter who wins the election, America will be under godless leadership. Pray for all the true believers that God will protect them just as He protected the Israelites from the plagues of Egypt. God have mercy on them. Mama Jo

  23. Peter Nov 5th 2012

I also believe that it is the judgement of God, but not as some as some of these comments suggest.
God sends judgement and justice to lead and guide us, not as a punishment.
If we don’t recognize God’s righteousness in His justice to either a nation, or even ourselves, then we will suffer the consequences.
It’s not our job to stand back and point the finger, but to use the gift of discernment to identify the justice, or penalty, that will tell us what God is saying to America, and us also.
We know that the world belongs to the evil one, so why should we be surprised at the sin of the world.
There are some Christians out there that have the gift of discernment, they need to rise up in their giftings, as we all do, in our particular gifts, to come to the battle against the enemy.
This could well be a call to all Christians to shake off the grip of the world and stand up for Christ.
We are not called to judge others, that is God’s job, we are are called to the highways and the byways, and even snatch people out of the fire, if necessary, to come to the marriage supper of the lamb.
We need to work as a body and come together as one, across the earth, lay down our own agendas and theories, and follow the thoughts of God.
Demons and Angels, speak through thought, they “think” to us.
The Holy Spirit speaks to our heart.
Learn to discern the thoughts you are having and recognize the voice of the Angels speaking to your mind the thoughts of God.
Also discern the thoughts of the flesh and of the enemy, resist them, and put them out.
This is how you can tell, if it’s good, it’s from God.
If it is bitter, angry, or judging, lustful etc, it is from the enemy.
All good things come from the Father of lights.
Use the sword of the Spirit, discern what God is telling us, and deliver the word into the hearts of the world. If it is spirit, it will go straight past the flesh into their hearts, If it is from our flesh, then don’t waste your time, and stop judging and start repenting.
We are not righteous because we have earned it, we are righteous because we have faith that Jesus is the Son of God and was raised from the dead.
Without Jesus, we are just the same as the rest of the world.
Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and powers in the heavenlies.
The people in the world are just their puppets, as we were also.
So stop polishing your halo’s and join the battle.
You have been called for this, at this time in the history of the world.
Unless, that is, you don’t have the Spirit of Christ.

  24. Karen Nov 5th 2012

God has given us what we asked for. We have systematically driven Him out of our homes, our schools, government, and church. What we get when we don’t allow God to rule our lives is our own “wisdom”. Government becomes our “god” and we decide what “our” truth is. With all the laws we need to govern ourselves, it appears to me that there is more lawlessness than anything. Without God in control, we have no society. What we have is chaos. The Bible predicts the disasters we have been experiencing. Our rebellion has gotten us exactly what we asked for. God forgive me for my rebelliousness.

I believe the US is not alone under judgment! The whole world is deep in The Great Tribulation. Better watch Spain!!!

So many Chritians with so little understanding….You should not be quick to pass judgement on anyone creates in the image of God.

Many accuse God of doing what is illegal to do. The nations of America have been given over to a wooden yoke, and been blinded so they cannot see God’s decrees. They would rebel even further as Israel did if they could see their judgement. The nation remains in the land and in tact. It could be worse. They could be removed from the land and sent into exile. This has not happened.

The bible says that if you blind a servant, you must set him free. This is the reason that America has been blinded. When the saints therein are set free, they will fulfill the destiny given to their fathers.
“The United States of America”, properly interpreted, is The Unified Estate of the Heavenly Kingdom. Do your homework.

So God has given leaders. All authority is appointed by God. These leaders contend for control and position, and will do anything to maintain their authority, but they do not acknowledge from Whom the authority comes. This will not be that way forever. In the mean time, they attempt to change times and seasons. They scrub our society to remove God from view. They seek the throne’s authority. They are Adam and attempt to ascend under their own authority. This is why they feel justified in using HAARP to destroy cities and people. Yes, Sandy was a HAARP induced storm.

But wait ! “Sandy” means the protector of mankind. God has hidden His grace in the midst of men attempting to destroy each other. This event will not accomplish what it was intended for.

It was 4067 days exactly from 9/11/2001 to the impact of Sandy on our shores. That number is exactly 83 x 49. The number 49 is the jubilee and the number 83 represents the value of “The Flood”. It was exaclty 83 years to the day from the stock market crash Octoer 29, 1929 (dropped 12%) to Sandy October 29, 2012. …and so on……October 29th was a date of prophetic fulfillment. For those who can understand the season of Jubilee has come. The higher winds stuck the center of finance that has enslaved the world. The slower winds to the south struck the nation’s capital. Both are now being removed from power so that the sons of God would be manifest.

Isa 30:25: And on every lofty mountain and on every high hill there will be streams running with water (the spirit is living water) on the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

It is not by chance that Sandy came to New York. First the towers fell, then a period of grace came to repent, and now the streams of water will flow on every high hill. Why do you think the water was so high?…Those who can see have been waiting for this time.

  27. Thomas Nov 5th 2012

yes, the whole world is under judgment, but since America was built on biblical principals and was once a Christian nation and leader in the world, the judgment is more severe as it is for all who teach and fall and don’t repent, according to scripture……we have seen a glimpse only of that which is to come…….make sure your lamps are full.

  28. goodwordtoday Nov 5th 2012

Well, Andrew, it’s obvious that a lot of kooky ideas abound on the comment pages of It amazes me how many Christians get taken in by urban myths.

Personally, as far as natural disasters go, I think it’s what the Bible says will happen in the end times. Natural disasters are getting worse world-wide, not just in the US. We are seeing a change in the global weather patterns which is creating super storms.

Earthquakes cause tsunamis – did those poor nations get judged for allowing child prostitution or for their evil ways when a mega-tsunami destroyed so many places and killed so many people? What about Myanmar when maybe two hundred thousand died because of a cyclone – a people who are oppressed every day of their lives by a terrible dictatorship – did God judge them because they are Buddhists?

Can we see the threads of the tapestry God is weaving? I don’t think so.

And the other things in our nation – killings and crazies: when you have a culture that has an entire generation playing first-person shooter games and watching tv 8 hours a day with programs full of violence; rampant single parent homes with kids paying the price for their parents’ selfishness; abortion and a society dedicated to protecting the murder of innocents; pornography (proven to promote violence) in every nook and cranny; the loss of the Christian identity of our nation; a deconstructing, even decimation, of the American family — what do you expect to have happen? I’m just amazed it isn’t worse!

We don’t have a nation which routinely sells its children into sex slavery…as least not yet. Why doesn’t God judge those southeast Asian countries that sell their children even when they are infants into sex slavery? Is that something that our nation promoted? Why doesn’t God judge the Netherlands for that nation is the true epicenter of the pornography industry. The US just learned from them and true to our capitalist ways, made it a huge industry.

I’ve been to Europe and the everyday tv programs that any child can watch are rampant with pornography. It’s disgusting. You can’t turn the television on without worrying about what you are going to be subjected to visually. The billboards have naked people on them in France and who knows where else in Europe. Is God judging them?

Sure it’s possible that God is judging our nation or specific areas of our nation. But more likely God is letting things play out and allowing us to dig our own graves with our behavior. Unfortunately, human beings as fallen creatures, left to our own devices have a propensity to destroy.

The economy is our own fault. Don’t blame that on God! People are greedy and when they have power to fuel that greed, bad things eventually happen. When you have the economy of most of the modern world based on paper and speculation, it’s not hard to imagine that the balloon will get popped sooner or later. In this case, it was later but it still got popped. And will the leaders and economists learn from that? Absolutely not! They will continue to do things that put entire nations in the tank. If you think we have it bad – what about Greece? Did God judge Greece?

What we are seeing, if you have read any historians, is Arnold Toynbee’s observation in his “Study of History” of the rise and fall of civilizations. Toynbee (a Christian) observed that civilizations have a life-span. They have primitive stages, classical stages, decadent stages, and because of moral decline eventually fall. We are in the decadent stage in America and unless we change our ways, eventually we will fall. And it will be our own doing…or should I say undoing. Toynbee argued that “Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder.”

  29. Bro. Andrew; Notice in the 16th chapter of Ez. the four sins of Sodom are listed. Pride, fullness of bread, abundance of idleness and neglect of the poor. These four sins is what opened the door for the sexual depravity that followed.
I believe our nation has been experiencing divine judgement for 60 or 70 years now. It really became evident with the sexual revolution of the 1960’s. What we are seeing today is what a nation looks like just before it falls. We are not worse than other nations, but like the ancient nation of Israel we have a higher level of accountability because we have been so blessed, with physical and spiritual knowledge.
These base men who conspire together to rule the kingdoms of this world are being set up by the Almighty for a big fall. This would be a good time for us to let go of our warm fuzzy feeling we have for our country and set our affections on things above. The kingdom of heaven cannot be established until the kingdoms of this world fall. In Rev. 18 the fall of Babylon is described. Notice the worldly people wept while the prophets rejoiced. America is not necessarily Babylon but it is very Babylonian in relation to it’s economic, religious and governmental make up.
Is there hope for America to repent? Repentance means to stop sinning which means to stop transgressing the law. Does anyone anticipate the cessation of the worship of images on television and movies theaters? Will the church cease desecrating the Sabbath with it’s love of sports, business and pleasure? Will we start obeying the decalogue that we have posted in public places? How can we if it is not written in our hearts.? Very few people are aware that the version of the ten commandments that is posted throughout many courthouses is from the Douay version of the bible and does not include the 2nd commandment on images. We call ourselves a Christian nation but few people have been into the secret place with the Most High so they don’t even know what a Christian is. But the time is coming and is now upon us that the servants of YHVH will be made known and those that have not gone through the refining fire will be introduced to it.
Andrew i appreciate your quotes and comments very much.

  30. Biblical pattern of judgement includes multiple warnings (if God’s people are involved) and wrath is not poured out until there is a number of true followers so small that God takes them out and then pours out His wrath. We see this in the flood, in Sodom, and also in Israel during the exile where God says, “There was no man left to stand in the gap.”

Half of these disasters are climate-change related, and are being seen in other parts of the world as well. Others are self-inflicted by our own greed (cause and effect) – and only one was an attack from enemies, which has some dubious evidence itself.

Not that America doesn’t deserve punishment. I deserve punishment every day. God’s mercy is more patient than we could ever imagine. Believe me it’s hard to live here and see what goes on, especially in the Church. But I keep being reminded of His longsuffering.

I do see in these disasters an opportunity for His people to seek Him only, trust Him only, and share His love with the word. I do think we will have an answer to give Him for how we respond, or don’t respond.

A long time ago there was a hurricane that hit Central America and I saw this poverty stricken man weeping after he had lost what little he had. He said, “I don’t know what we did to deserve this, but I hope God will forgive us.” It broke my heart that when people experience tragedy, they assume they are being punished. This mindset drove our family into a legalistic cult for 6 years, trying to earn God’s blessings. Does America need to repent? Yes. But the Church must lead the way instead of pointing a condemning finger at gays and drugs and porn and whatever else they deem unholy when their own sins are reaching a stench up to heaven. Sins they cannot see. And if the Church is crying judgment on people who have lost everything, even their own precious children, then I don’t think that’s a good place to start.

  31. !State Nov 5th 2012

I don’t know about judgment, but if ever there was a clarion call to “wake up!”, we’ve certainly been the recipients. Whether or not anyone is actually hearing it remains a mystery to me.

Last week, when hurricane Sandy was bearing down on the eastern seaboard there was yet another of nature’s happenings. Just north of me – in British Columbia – was a sizeable earthquake that required Tsunami warnings across the Pacific. I thought it interesting that both sides of the country – the “book ends”, if you will – were feeling powerless in the face of nature’s fury.

  32. Fran Stoll Nov 5th 2012

It’s a sad commentary when Christians believe the God of the Old Testament has returned to wreak havoc, calamity and wrath on us. Jesus Christ completed the Old Testament and the new Covenant, created in His blood, was founded on new and better promises. We must take our eyes off the natural and see the supernatural God is doing in our midst. We have signs and wonders of new and better things He is pouring out on us in abundance, things like His love and grace. He doesn’t condemn us who believe, but those who don’t believe are condemned already. Bringing misery and calamity goes against what Jesus died on the cross to bring us, namely freedom from God’s wrath and NO condemnation. “There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”. . . (Romans 8:1) Trust in God, not natural calamities.

    rick makihoniuk said:

i find this very very WRONG…..why would you ‘enjoy’ the results of any suffering?? even if judgment IS involved, the LORD HIMSELF does NOT ‘enjoy’ having to do this – sinners PERISH in these things and the LORD declares that HE DOES NOT DESIRE FOR ANY TO PERISH, that HE DOES NOT TAKE JOY IN THE DEATH OF ONE WHO DIES as it states in Ezekiel…

i see this over and over again – so many are eager and willing to CONDEMN america and jump up and down with glee for what is coming against her, but i do NOT think there is any PLEASURE in it for the LORD.

she has fallen TERRIBLY but the LORD holds the ‘church’ responsible, whether we like it or not…..PRAY FOR THIS NATION, oh people of God. we ALL know what 2 Chronicles 7:14 says – probably by HEART, but that is about sorrow and repentance and NOT about REJOICING over judgment coming – if indeed this is what it is.

i would also like to point out that america has ALSO been the LEADING NATION in the ‘exportation’ of the gospel of Jesus Christ – talking REAL gospel here…..just seems like whenever someone/something has been ‘blessed’ that ‘others’ outside that blessing cannot WAIT to tear it down and are full of glee when things are going wrong and I DO NOT THINK THIS PLEASES THE LORD AT ALL.

i didn’t vote for obama and i won’t vote for him again but i WILL vote and i WILL seek to do ‘my part’ to help this nation turn back to what is right – i will NOT throw stones at her as a nation but i WILL declare the ABSOLUTE UNRIGHTEOUSNESS of those of her ‘citizens’ and ‘leaders’ that are an abomination in the sight of GOD and in the sight of HIS people.

  34. Marc Wildman Nov 5th 2012

Of course, we are under God’s judgment; ‘to much is given, much is required’. Notwithstanding, I would be judicious about not looking in any other direction but perhaps inside yourself. God is moderating the world, and that may be why Japan went under water, New Zealand’s earthquakes that hit Christchurch are just a few illustrations we need to also examine? God is at ‘odds’ with His creation worldwide and there is no telling where He may strike next?

  35. Yes this is absolutley judgment. You can close your eyes to the fact. But this is just history repeating itself. God has always allowed chastening to come whether in the form of some judgment or what we call disaster. The things that have been done, shall be done, and there’s no new thing under the sun. This is a paraphrase of Eccl. 1:9.
If don’t repent there is more to come. God Bless

I hope Andrew has floated the subject just to be controversial and provacative, because I think this topic is primarily nonesense. Natural disasters are just that…natural. There is nothing I see to make me consider these events have a spiritual context. When the Earth was created, I believe God set everything in motion and then removed his hand. Its inconceivable and against His nature to think He’s sitting in the heavenlies and somehow micro-managing and/or stirring up a particularly big hurricane to send as short-term judgement on America. Storms, floods, drought, eathquakes, hurricanes, etc. have always happened (and will continue to happen) and are all part of the ongoing cycle of His big and “natural” plan.

Remember, people just a little inland from the coast got wet and maybe temporarily lost electrical power. A major inconvenience if you’re living in it, but in the end, just a small blip. Bottomline, if you’ve excercised your free choice and built an ocean front home, you should have fully expected your life would be affected by a hurricane now and then. It would be naive and foolish to believe otherwise.

Also the fact is, although it had a 1000+ mile spread, Sandy was was in reality a minimal Category 1 hurricane. What made it a “super storm” was where it came ashore. The east coast has large population and density. But more importantly, its getting such intensive coverage because it affected the media center of the world. If this exact same storm had hit the more rural areas of the Alabama/Mississipi coast, we probably wouldn’t still be talking about it. Historically, there have been massive storms which have built to Cat. 4 & 5 strength in the Gulf of Mexico. But they stayed south over open water until they absolutely slammed into relatively unpopulated areas of Mexico. The devastation was incredible, but no one seemed to notice or care. Why?

And to those who think we can somehow manufacture or control weather systems….Yeah, right!

As to the violence directed at America, again I see no particular short-term spiritual component. These were done by individuals who, consumed and motivated by either mental illness or blind hatred, thought they were doing the right thing. God’s judgement and intervention in these isolated events will be final, but in the end.

  37. sharon moon Nov 5th 2012

I think you left things out of the list. There’s the gulf of Mexico oil spill. Some major forrest fires in the west. The gridlock of American government/as well as that same government throwing away money at dark things.
This nation has asked adamently for God to remove Himself. For years. Boo’d God
on tv at a major political event.
If you don’t think God is bringing judgment perhaps you could think that He has just removed covering. What’s the dif. He did it to Israel/in His love will do it to us.
As bad as it seems to be right now; it could have been worse. Was a measured
If the church would just wake up and pray.

  38. Deborah Nov 5th 2012

If you look back to the 1800s, you can see the weather and storms and earthquakes ,that what goes around comes back around, what about the earthquake of SanFrancisco? the hurricanes that have already struck the coast? what about tornadoes that have already been, the dust bowl? but I do believe that the Father is trying to get our attention, too, the twin towers? man made castatrophe. possibility our own, just put the blame on someone that we don’t get along with, Our country is greedy , wants to run the world… we all need to repent and come back to the Father…

  39. janie Nov 5th 2012

God told Jonah…4:11 “But Ninevah has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?”
Back in 2005, God woke me in the night and gave me the word Yuchatan Peninsula. Hurricane Wilma was on it’s way to Mexico.
I had a friend at the time say that God creates all the good and bad in the world, so I questioned God and said, “Why are you waking me to pray for Mexico, Yuchatan, when you are sending the storm anyway? How can you do both? God answered me in the night and gave me two words…Jonah and plant.
From my study, it appeared that Jonah was more concerned with himself, his own comfort, and he also wanted to see God hurt Ninevah in judgement. God sent Jonah to warn them… “that their wickedness has come up before me.” Jonah 1:2
God did not want to hurt them, save them.
Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Joel 2:13

Because of the cross, Jesus took the sin of the world.
I believe God is concerned for humanity, he does not want people to perish, and will relent from sending calamity when people turn from wickedness.
The churches job is to get that message out to the world. The storm of all storms is coming, ” That great day of the Lord”, and God is asking us, like Jonah to warn them, but with his compassion and not walk with our noses stuck up in the air thinking we are better than the world. Remember, God said he was concerned because Ninevah didn’t know their right hand from their left. The devil has people deceived. Let us be like God, full of compassion for people trapped in sin and unlike Jonah who just wanted to see Ninevah hurt.

The Word of Hashem G-d is True. If you are under His Protection as you walk with Him, in obedience to Him, and as part of Him; you will be protected where ever you are. This is reflected in many scriptures such as Psalm 91 and Deuteronomy 28. Even if disaster happens near you, it will not come near you.

Let us be humble and obey His Word; not the word of a church or a person, however “anointed” he or she is supposed to be. In Mathew 23:8-10 The Lord told us to call no man our Teacher or our Father; except G-d. Let us seek to hear the Voice of Father even if we hear or read the words of a man or woman.

I live in Maryland, and the recent storm brought power outages etc. to areas very close to us. We had our power right through, internet and cell phone connections without a break. It was raining and there were strong winds so we didn’t leave our home, but we did not feel the impact of the storm in discomfort.

Similarly, the tsunami hit my native country Sri Lanka. Our family knew of no one who was hurt or lost their lives; we lived on the south west part of the island.

The memory of the righteous (those in right standing with G-d) is blessed – Prov 10:7

  41. Hazel Morris Nov 5th 2012

We are absolutely a nation under judgment. The very fact that people are in denial as they were in Noah’s day and in Sodom’s day is a startling reminder that Jesus warned us of these times! Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.[Psalms 14:34]. It is amazing that we are living in a time in which not even Christians believe God’s Word to be true! And even worse that Christians do not understand that God’s love encompasses judgment, because it is designed to provoke us to turn/return to God with repentance for straying away from Him. How easily we forget that He is Holy and calls us to holiness as well. God also warned us that this time would come: For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? I Peter 4:17

Christians have be blinded and deceived by what the world has taught them psychologically to believe: “These things are happening due to global warning, self inflicted attacks, El Nino, etc.” Refusing to consider that God is trying to get our attention, that we might return to Him. As a nation we are in a severe state of Apostasy, Chronic state of moral decline, and refusing to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital as God has established and worst yet trying to force Israel to divide the land! All of which is a recipe for disaster to any nation/people.

There are examples of God’s blessings when we honor Him and judgment when we dishonor Him woven throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and we are not exempt. It is time to pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways, so that He will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land!

While my heart goes out to what was once our great nation, I am very disturbed that we have defied the God that our nation was founded upon by calling that which He has declared in His Word as evil. . .we now say that it is good and acceptable. And that which was once referred to as darkness, we now call it light. Isaiah 5:20 May God help us to open the eyes of our hearts before we become yet another example of what happens when a nation rejects the God that she once honored, looked to for guidance, and put Him first above all else!!!

  42. Bernard Nov 5th 2012

If it was, as many say, a Judgement of God, please do not help with relief operations, do not distribute food and clothes, etc. otherwise you will impede the judgement. How foolish is that.

  43. Michael Nov 5th 2012

I’m not a U.S citizen. But after my love for my country Nigeria, Israel, The United States comes next. Happening in the U.S in recent times is really unfortunate. I’m not a prophet of doom, but if America pick Obama for the next 4yrs then American should be ready for far grievous calamity. Obama Presidency has the colouration of complete satanic agenda. No hard feeling. I like an supported is effort during his first bid for the Presidency, but like many, i had supported the wrong man. In works for the dark side.

  44. Dawn R. Justice Phenix Nov 5th 2012

God is love and He seems to want us to love/show mercy to everyone and not be like Job’s three friends. All that happens comes from God’s hand, but He requires no judgements from us and is not please when we judge.

  45. Jamie Nov 5th 2012

This is not altogether true.. it is because of our sin and turning from God as a nation that we no longer have the grace to support Israel or be divinely protected from these loses. Israel is not our get out of judgment free card and never was, being a nation who honored God was and still will be the only way for America.. out of THAT and only that is the grace to stand with Israel along with any blessings.

  46. It is a good question. But I will agree with Pastor Carter Conlon of Times Square Church in NYC. This was a bad storm, a destructive storm – so let’s be the Church and get out there and help people. He and his Church is doing that in the midst of having their own homes flooded etc. He has the heart of God and says those who say this is God’s judgement are theologically lazy! I see his point completely. It is a time when people are in need and a time for Christians to get out and help and not judge but to be a light to the world and take people to a loving God in Word and in deed. May many come to know Him.

  47. Daniel Nov 5th 2012

What I am wondering is how you can oppose the exporting of “youth rebellion” and yet support the use of “Christian” rock music, when all the founders of rock music declare the music is about sex, drugs, rebellion, “sticking it to the man,” and Satan.

  48. L. Alex Smith Nov 5th 2012

I agree that God is lifting His hand of protection off the nation. However, this storm was not His Judgement…. unless you would like to say that He is judging Haiti ! This storm killed about 100 Americans, but it absolutely devastated Haiti, people who were living in shacks, now totally destroyed. However, this doesn’t seem “newsworthy” somehow. So compare the death toll in Haiti to that in the States, and ask, “Is God judging Haiti?” Jesus said in the Gospel, “There will be earthquakes and famines and pestilences, wars, and rumours of war…these are but the beginning of sorrows.” America needs to turn back to God as a nation… but nations are made up of individuals, some of whom get into public office, who then set policy. Did God judge the Roman Empire? Or did it just collapse of its own accord, due to moral decline, which led to people becoming dependent on government hand-outs (bread and circusses) instead of working hard for a living… then, lack of discipline in a once well-disciplened army, which led to the legions being recalled from Britain, North Africa, and other outposts, until 476 A.D. when Rome itself was sacked… order did hang on for a while, but degraded into chaose… Surprisingly, the Bible makes little mention of the end of that mighty empire, just the Daniel prophecy that “after the Belly of Brass” (representing Alexander’s Greek Empire) “there will be two legs of Iron”(representing Rome, eastern and western halves), “then there will be two Feet, with ten toes, of Iron mixed with Clay” (representing the AntiChrist’s One World Government) “but a Stone, cut without hands, from a Mountain, will smite the Feet and smash them to pieces, and the Stone will get larger and larger and fill the whole earth.” (representing Christ’s millenial Kingdom). If America falls, we will notice… but in the light of History, will it make that much difference? Is America even mentioned in the Bible? Perhaps, “one of the Lion’s whelps”? (nations birthed from the British Empire)– just guessing. Our view is myopic historically, and a bit fuzzy spiritually!

  49. Shirley Nov 5th 2012

I do believe America is under judgment for allowing ungodly influences to little by little erode our Godly inheritance, This nation was founded on God not only as being Supreme, but as our basis for government as well as personal Savior through Jesus Christ. Sadly even Christians, and some in name only, have allowed personal greed and selfishness to sway them in voting for leaders who are not Godly leaders in righteousness, but opposed to the very principles of God. As a world leader raised up by God for these last days, we have failed miserably and deserve judgment. My continued prayer is for God’s mercy and grace upon this nation so that we may one more time become the Christian nation and His light for this lost and dying world. In the natural this seems impossible, but with God ALL all things are possible.

  50. Mick 2 Nov 5th 2012

The US will soon be destroyed utterly, followed shortly by the rest of Satan’s kingdom. Don’t lose the plot, folks. Man made a covenant with Satan in the garden. Then God made a blood covenant with all who would escape Satan’s kingdom. Don’t try to fix it, but be the man of God He called you to be. Didn’t God say, “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto myself”? He’s lifted up in you, when you leave the distracting details and put Him first. Let the dead bury the dead; you’ve got better things to do.

By the way… the destruction of the US and the world is a good thing; it is God’s righteous judgement, and the end of Satan’s kingdom. Come out of it; don’t love it or hate it, but come out of it and manifest God in the vessel God gave you.

  51. steve nixon Nov 5th 2012

Yes…I believe the usa is being punished by the Lord. I also believe what Ruth Graham said (wife of Billy Graham) …”If God doesn’t soon bring judgment upon America, He’ll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!”

  52. besides the weather, the rest of them were man-made disasters. America’s economy is going to collapse in April

  53. I definitely believe we are being judged. I can also see why the Muslims call us the great satan. On the other hand, I believe the Muslims represent Satan quite well themselves.

  54. Renee Nov 5th 2012

For my part, I don’t believe the USA is being ‘judged’ any more or less than the rest of the world. Unfortunately, it looks like a time of global judgement is coming but according to the Scriptures if it is it will begin with the Church, 1 Peter 4:17.

If ever there was a time to be in humble, passionate prayer for Revival, it’s now.

May God’s mercy triumph once again over the darkness of our times!

  55. The answer from the Word of God is clearly YES!!

Ezek. 14:12 Then the word of the Lord came to me saying, 13 “Son of man, if a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness, and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it and cut off from it both man and beast, 14 even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves,” declares the Lord God. 15 “If I were to cause wild beasts to pass through the land and they depopulated it, and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the beasts, 16 though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God, “they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the country would be desolate. 17 Or if I should bring a sword on that country and say, ‘Let the sword pass through the country and cut off man and beast from it,’ 18 even though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God, “they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters, but they alone would be delivered. 19 Or if I should send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath in blood on it to cut off man and beast from it, 20 even though Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God, “they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.”

Andrew Strom says, “Our heart certainly goes out to the people caught up in recent disasters. I have been involved in disaster relief myself, and know how heart-rending it can be. But still, this question needs to be asked…”

Living on Long Island in New York, in the center of the devastation, I have to ask, your heart goes out, Andrew? Just how?

What have you done, besides pray, if you’ve done even that? Have you contributed to the Red Cross? What have you done?

What have you done to reveal what’s truly in your heart?

We know. You have shown us.

You have judged others as being judged by God, while they are still finding their dead, as they are homeless and without electricity, heat, food and water.

    Good for you, Mr. Christian!

Wow, you’ve done disaster relief. That’s so impressive. What good did it do you? Now you are cold, callous, and judgmental.

Your timing couldn’t be worse in asking your question. True compassionate Samaritan-type believers in my area aren’t asking that question. We’re too busy helping our neighbors and comforting those who have suffered unimaginable loss.

Do you really think we’re worse sinners than the rest of the world? Really? Think again. Jesus Christ warns against that ugly, self-righteous, deceptive thinking…

“Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luk 13:4-5 KJV).

Clean up your own backyard and help the suffering — wherever you see them and however they are in that situation.

And God help you. You are in worse shape that we are.

  57. Jonathan Cahn’s.”The Harbinger”,with the nine harbingers(warnings),has the biblical pattern of judgment according to Is.9:10, ,as the Lord gave it to him, laid out in an awesome irrefutable manner.Israel took the same prideful, stoutness of heart response to a warning breach in their spiritual defenses, leading to limited destruction at first by the Assyrian terrorists(ancestors of todays terrorists), followed by major judgment and captivity. The parallels in America’s breach(9/11)and what has since followed are amazingly identical.America is well advanced on the road of ignoring the warnings and about to reap more major destruction on all fronts. In the midst of it will be revival. It’s over guys, that “american dream”!The only thing holding back the final destruction for the last 50 years or so has been the remnant(many of whom are still asleep) We are already worse than Sodom and Gomorrah, the only difference being,God has a covenant with us and there are more than “10”!( Genesis 18:24-32)(Ez.16:56,57,60 etc)

It always astounds me how opinionated we ALL ARE. Whether in USA or other countries. Somehow, if you read the majority of these entries, they are nothing but opinions.

If you are in other countries, it is hard for you to truly keep up w/ what is going on. You are hearing it 2nd or 3rd hand or reading news.

I have been watching people these last several weeks. Literally hearing them as I have gone to polling spots (early voting) and many are still doing something that they did in 2008. They are looking for a FIXER, a So called person that will come in and Fix every problem, every solution and every person, industry , to “help them”. They are not looking unto the LORD.

Whether America or anyone else is under Judgement, truly is not our call. It is the Lord’s business. IF He has decided that we are under judgement, then so be it.

I have read and read and read all these folks saying we are under judgement. I have even said it , early on. I try hard not to say it anymore and ONLY TOOK TO MY SELF and PRAY and ASK the Father if there is something that is UNPLEASING TO HIM. If there is something I NEED TO CHANGE. IF THERE IS SOMETHING I NEED TO REPENT OF.

I can not repent for someone else, nor for America. (not the way these folks are doing) I mean there are those out there on a 40 day prayer and fasting, but of those folks I have talked to —- they see nothing that they need to really repent of.They don’t see that judgment comes to those that ARE HIS. NOT everyone is HIS. It is like they live and do as they always have, but tell everyone , “we are on a 40 days fast and prayer and we recite these prayers to bring America back. “”””

Back to what????? back to the way it was? Back to the way they feel it needs to be? Back to a cush place , save haven that they can continue to do as they please and spue unbiblical things out of their mouths that they are being taught?

I can’t say that EVERYONE is doing this, but what I can say is , they too, have fallen into the traps of looking at others instead of self and truly asking the Lord for HIS LOOK upon them (personally)

Whether Romney gets this presidency or Obama is re elected, people are looking to have an earthly savior NOT change themselves on the inside. And that comes from the Lord/ through the Holy SPirit , NOT from a new age book of self help or self change.

I read this blog and everyone has their input. I just hope that everyone that has an imput has looked within themselves and laid down the things that the Lord has placed in their hearts. And that takes work.!!!!! Anyone can spue things out of their mouths to make it sound good. —- Just look at everything all politicians say and do, then go and look at the pastors in the pulpits. IS there really any difference???? One just sounds “holier” than the other.

I leave you w/ this from Bill Wilson- The Daily Jot.

Tommorrow or the next day, we will have a new president. We don’t need obama again. Looking at what he has done in 4 yrs. should be enough for those that originally voted for him. BUT voting for Romney also won’t be as easy a change like he declares. We will have new problems w/ one or the other.

The truth is ———— for those that are truly the Lord’s and are focused on the Lord, He will protect us. We don’t really know what is going to happen, we can only cling to the TRUE LIVING LORD, JESUS CHRIST, SON OF THE THE ONLY FATHER IN HEAVEN and THE ONLY SON OF OUR FATHER. Anything else, falls short.

So, whether it is judgement or not, we know He has declared there will be judgments but it is HIS BUSINESS. OUR BUSINESS is to do all we can to come to HIM , HUMBLE OURSELVES, lay down things that are not HIM, Repent and ask for Forgiveness and cling to HIM. HE THEN WILL DIRECT OUR PATHS and then we have another decision to make —- WILL WE FOLLOW HIM AND HIM ALONE.!!!!!!

Prophetic destiny and the challenge ahead

The prophetic destiny of America is in the hands of its own people as election day approaches. Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.” This proverb is becoming the anthem for the United States. Irrespective of how the election turns out, there will be more of the same–more debt, more war, more immorality, more homosexuality, more abortion, more pornography, more whatever. Blaming it on our leaders somehow shifts the responsibility from We the People. Election Day will change little. If the incumbent is reelected, he promises more the same. If not, one man cannot undo the American people. There will be mourning.

Only the American people can undo what we collectively have become. Where is the “Church” in all of this? Quite frankly, the mythical church in America is so wrapped around self indulgent, extra biblical and even New Age teachings that people have become so “heavenly minded” they are rarely any “earthly good.” Otherwise, we would not have the sub-par candidates from which to choose. There is much banter back and forth on what is “Godly” to do–vote, not vote; be involved politically, not be involved; social agenda, moral agenda; and so on. The vast majority of the “church” is engaged in some sort of ideological subversion where even well meaning Christians can no longer discern Bible from man.

So-called prophets with dreams and proclamations and declarations that have not one jot or tittle of Biblical grounding tickle the ears of people. “Reverends” use the Bible as if it is some dead historic document, disregarding any influence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. There is rarely truth being preached or practiced on either end of the spectrum. Those who do are looked upon by their fellow Christians as radicals, often ostracized by the legalists and the charismatics alike–both considering their own brand of “Jesus” rather than the true Word of YHVH. As Yeshua said in Luke 11:17, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.” We have become bipolar.

We as the “Church” must change. As 1 Peter 4:17 says, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of YHVH: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of YHVH?” We as followers of the Messiah are deep into a prophetic crossroads. Will we discard the chains of deception and bondage that imprison us and take up the garment of truth? Will we not think that prayer is our only action? Will we know the truth by our own study rather than stand on the vain words of deceivers? Will we become a people known like those in Acts 17:6 who “turned the world upside down”? It is our response to this challenge that will determine our prophetic destiny and the destiny of this nation.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
    Bill Wilson

I would strongly advise anyone to also read the dreams and visions at Hand of Help Ministry.

    *The Explosion-
While napping in the recliner, I found myself standing before a great city with multiple massive buildings of all shapes, sizes and heights. I’d never seen this city before and had no idea where I was. As I stood there, I could feel a cool gentle breeze blowing against my skin.

Then all of a sudden without warning, there was a massive explosion. There was a great fireball that arose from the ground and it went upwards and outwards, taking everything in its path. The city was brought down into complete destruction and ruin within moments.

It was not as if I were watching a movie or was afar off, but as if I was standing on the city limits watching. But as I stood there watching what was happening just before me, I neither felt the wind nor the heat of the blast.

The blast woke me out of my sleep and I wondered what could it mean. 12/7/02

    *A Warning to the Church-
God is tired of the Church playing Church, instead of being the Church!!!

The church has left Me, their first love. You compromise and conform with the things of this world, rather than conforming to Me. And I Will Not compromise!!! But how can the world come to know Me through you, when you are no different from them?

There is a day of trouble coming and it is upon you even now and there are those in the body of Christ that will not be able to stand when the fire of this day comes. You will look for Me and seek after Me, but you will not be able to find Me, for you will be in a dry place that is afar off from Me.

My word says, “If My people which are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Humble yourselves before Me now My people and seek Me now, so that when this day of trouble comes, you will be able to go through the fire and find Me, for many will not be able to stand…”

“There shall also be a famine of My Word in this nation of iniquity and it has already begun, but you have not recognized it for what it is. My Word is not spoken in the congregation among the people. It is twisted and turned to justify their own purposes, thus do not be surprised when My Word is removed completely from among you. It shall be considered obsolete, not necessary any longer and in time be considered heresy to possess or speak My Word. Do not be dismayed when this happens, but rather remember that I have sent you a Comforter who shall bring all things to remembrance.” 12/16/07

I do pray for you all. I know that is not allot. But having been in the mainstream of helping in the Katrina desaster, I do know that you and so many others are hurting.

My daughter has friends in N.J. She has not yet been able to get in touch w/ them but is hoping that they are all o.k. We also have friends that are on deploy over there. LIteral in the street helping. NOT red cross, but others and we have limited access of hearing from them but we know that it is extremely bad and like a Katrina.

I don’t look at these as others do, or try not to. When disaster hits, it hits. People have to stop anyalizing WHY and just get busy and help others. Sometimes it is helping just to pray w/ them while shoveling their mess up / Other times it is holding them and allowing them to grieve and yell and scream if they need to.

I had a chance to work w/ many of them from Katrina. Heartache is heartache and lossing is LOOSING , looking to HOW WE REBUILD. ——– NOT IF THERE IS A JUDGEMENT ON US.

So, Kate, yes, I pray for you all and I know it will take much time before SOME things get better, knowing that ALL THINGS will not get better. You will have years to actually look at the chaos that Sandy has left. God Help you all and my the commerotory and love of HIM come through those cold nights and days and people that you are around.

Dale, The Harbinger might be a good “fiction” but it is filled w/ EXTRA biblical stuff and new age. As in numberology and the man Jonothan Cahn has lined himself up w/ Glen Beck and Dominionists. There might be some similar things going on that he wrote about, but it is not all TRUTH. So, please be careful. If you want to know more about all this, you need to just look on line about it. I have only found one website out of about 40 that thinks that his book is truth. (those are christian websites) You might have deemed from the book, but others might be subjected to new age myth and not realize it.

I find it interesting that blue states were hard hit and the democrats voted to take God off their platform at the convention. We are reaching out to help in the clean up efforts.

  62. We certainly may ask if God is witholding His hand of protection from America, and if He is judging her. What we cannot do is pretend to speak for God and declare with certainty what His intentions are. When God speaks to a nation through actions, it is clear to everyone. No interpretation necessary. There may be several reasons for disasters, not only judgement. Sometimes it is to turn us toward Him so He can bless us.

  63. DeWayne Nov 5th 2012

True enough this has nothing to do with having blessed Israel, today Israel are a people for the most part yet scattered, and not a land… certainly also the blessing was to a people throught the seed of Abraham that is Christ Jesus.

Others also have made an important point I believe, having need to acquire wisdom and knowledge of our Lord, and of the worlds affairs needing be exposed rather than entered into. it is Gods will and purpose we in a spiritual service nrrd be aware, as warned in Matt 16:3-4 You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. (although I also believe weather and conditions of heavens and earth have only begun)

  64. grazer Nov 5th 2012

Let’s take notice how 1/2 of the 8 catastrophes Andrew listed were clearly acts of God–which mankind had no control over—and the other half were clealry acts of Man—which God made in His own image for reasons that we have no control over.

Point being: God is in full charge of every single thing that blesses and befalls us, from beginning to end, whether we like it or not. ~Such is the power and glory of God.

Don’t believe it?—read His book again.

So, what can we, Christian or otherwise, purposely do to help God turn things around and save the day?—Absolutely nothing, thank God.

About all that’s left for us to do is what His Christ already told us to do….stop judging others, try keep our own noses clean and help one another as God’s perfect plan unfolds before our eyes.

    Come, Lord Jesus, come.

Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing</strong.
Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

  66. Roger Nov 5th 2012

    Apologies – should read:

Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

  67. God help all of us, because none of us are very far behind.

  68. reading some of these comments, I can’t believe how much in denial many people are. Yes, the whole of the western world has come under judgement. none of us will escape!!! that is not an opinion. That is a fact, based on the physical evidence, and of how God works in history. Andrew is right, the US has been a leader in may ways, and leaders do get judged to a greater measure. That is biblical. There is absolutely no point hiding your head in the sand and saying its nothing to do with me. The US has also been the greatest exporter of the false prosperity gospel. And if you cant see that. God help you, you really are in trouble. Its not pointing your finger in judgement to say that a nation is under God’s hand of judgement. It’s stating the obvious. It’s a call to repentance, and clearly many people on this blog need it. It’s discerning the times we are in.

  69. DeWayne Nov 5th 2012

Your presentations are spiritually in content and context well needed I hope in this you are able to stand off in spiritual calm, as some such as Kate and perhaps myself have emotional issue.

I admit myself being at times striken, hopefully to realize if needed what is my own issue that needs be resolved. Yet we each apparently contribute a part, from out of which is revealed a truth.

  70. Kate in NY Nov 5th 2012

Christy Gibas wrote: “I find it interesting that blue states were hard hit and the democrats voted to take God off their platform at the convention.”

I find it interesting that you got only half the story. They voted “God” back in and quickly.

Not the God of the Bible, of course. Ditto with Republicans. They also talk about God but don’t know Him. Their current presidential nominee is proof.

Mitt Romney doesn’t follow Jesus, but Joseph Smith, who he says is a true prophet of God. Have you studied Mormonism and its ungodly history? It’s the cult of cults.

Since 1830, Joseph Smith and his demonic Book of Mormon have deceived multitudes. And many Mormons, including Glenn Beck, believe Romney is the fulfillment of Joseph Smith’s false “White Horse Prophecy” of 1843.

  71. As for me and my house, there is absolutely no question that the judgment of God is upon our nation. But if that be true then judgment must also be upon the house of God, right now!

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17

Further, not only must judgment begin at the house of God, judgment must begin with those in leadership positions in the house of God. (See 1 Kings 15:30 for an example of that.)

We ask you to re-read the Book of Judges. Everyone is familiar with the general content of that Book; i.e., how time after time God’s chosen people “lost their first love,” followed by the judgment of God. After some time of suffering and tribulation, the people of God finally repented and God sent them a deliverer who freed them from the bondage of tyranny.

The last verse in Judges is:

In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did [continually] that which was right in his own eyes. Judges 21:25

This is the Divine summation of the entire Book of Judges. All of the evil followed as a result of the disobedience in Judges 1:21-36. The chosen people of God did not drive out the inhabitants of the promised land (which they were told to do).

We have a repeat of that same Divine judgment on our nation today. This country has allowed every secular minority, every religious minority, every minority of every kind not only to remain but to be exalted. The minority has dictated the state of the union, such that today, homosexuality and same-sex marriage is considered normal. The Bible, prayer, and the ten commandments have been taken out of the schools. The Federal government has usurped individual rights. Socialism is fast becoming the real type of government. Why? Because of the apathy and lukewarm state of the house of God. The Christian world has never been so fractured. Christians flock to hear false messages of peace, prosperity, and blessings. Who preaches, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand?” That message that Jesus preached, that Paul preached, is much, much more than John 3:16, being “saved,” and going to heaven one day.

That same judgment principle applies in the natural realm. God’s Divine principles apply not only to the house of God but also to those who do not know Him. This worldly nation tomorrow will elect a president. In the past, and even continuing, some Spirit-filled Christians believe that we Christians should try to “infiltrate” the secular political world in order to “clean up democracy.” But democracy never has been and never will be God’s choice of government. And God never “improves” or makes better that which man institutes. Rather, He replaces man’s efforts with something else, namely the kingdom of God, where no man gets a vote. One “notable” believer even ran for President a number of years ago. We have never found any Scripture that remotely indicates that we should even vote for our secular leader. We ARE told to pray for those [already] in authority … for kings (and presidents) that are already in power (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Should a Christian “vote” in secular elections? That is between you and the Lord. What Scripture DOES tell us is that the Lord is the one who decides elections.

And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: Daniel 2:21

If the next four years will indeed mark the end of this nation (because of the impending wrath of God being poured out in every way), then the current president will be re-elected. That will hasten Sodom and Gomorrha in the U.S. It will also hasten the economic collapse of the U.S. No man will be able to stop such collapse. It all depends upon the timetable of the Lord (which no man knows) as to which candidate gets elected tomorrow.

It seems that at least for the last 12 presidential elections (48 years), many Christians (including Spirit-filled Christians) have had the attitude of, “If we can get our choice for president elected, then everything will be fine.” Nothing could be further from the truth! That is only a secular, worldly attitude. We must look at the situation from God’s perspective, not Christian man’s perspective. The simple truth is that God is not looking for a “better” secular president for a secular nation. Instead, God wants His chosen people to do that which He has spoken to His people from the beginning of time and that which is recorded in black and white in the Bible in numerous places. So what is that?

Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth. Joel 1:5

That verse has nothing to do with drinking natural wine. It has to do with His chosen people awaking and weeping … crying out to God for mercy. It has to do with …

Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare Thy people, O LORD, and give not Thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? Joel 2:17

It is true that all of us, as believers, are priests. However, Ezekiel 44 clearly differentiates between the priests who minister to the house and the priests, the ministers of the Lord. We urge you to go back and re-read that Chapter. Further, the priests who minister to the house are many more in number and popularity with Spirit-filled Christians today. You can see and hear them every Sunday at the church “services.” You can see and hear them every day on television. The priests who minister to the house have no idea what it means to weep between the porch and the altar. What we see in America today (and many yesterdays) is that the heathen rule over the chosen people of God. Where are the priests who minister to the Lord? And how many of those are weeping between the porch and the altar?

  72. Gary Schell Nov 5th 2012

As a Christian first and an American second, I see today’s church compromising biblical truth for a false sense of security and peace. I see many churches preaching a false salvation message and filling the church with false converts. When true salvation is not being taught, men and women are not receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, men are incapable of discerning biblical truth from theological views. God does not judge nations; He judges the individual souls of men and women. God is sovereign and will allow natural disasters and manmade disasters to reveal His glory. God is more concerned about our souls, than our earthly comfort and security. In the book of 2 Thessalonians, we are told that a great falling away will occur before the antichrist is revealed. True Christians can see this happening today in our world. This falling away is not just occurring in America, but everywhere in the world. In the last day God will judge both the living and the dead. This will be God’s true judgment and He will judge the souls of all unbelievers. True Christians will not be judged for their sins. Jesus Christ will be standing in front us and our sins will not be revealed before our Father in Heaven. This is why Jesus Christ died on the cross. Prophecy tells that in the last days God will pour out His wrath on this earth. This is not God’s Judgment, but his anger towards the unrepentant people of those days. True Christians need not fear God’s wrath as explained in 1 Thessalonians. God did not appoint true Christians to suffer His wrath, but to receive salvation in Jesus Christ. God’s true judgment will come at His appointed time. In the meantime, our sovereign God will use whatever methods He desires to reveal His glory and save the lost souls of this generation.

  73. I agree with Markus. Unless God specifically speaks to us and connects sin with disaster, I think we have to follow the “fallen creation” line. In the OT days the prophets specifically connected some disasters with Israel’s sin, likewise other nations (i.e. Hittites, Nineveh, etc) but we can only connect by INFERENCE when it comes to America, NZ, Britain, Australia and other ‘western’ lands.
By the same token, when China, a Communist country has a massive snowfall, we cannot specifically connect this to their communism.
On the individual level, when Christians are sick, is this because they have sinned? With no specific connection we cannot say for sure.

  74. A more poignant question to ask is “is the body of Christ under judgement”? answer…Yes

  75. Nila Yeo Nov 5th 2012

“is the body of Christ under judgement”?

Yes- and it’s all our fault!

  76. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

No, the Body of Christ is not under judgement. To state that is an opinion, we need evidence. Is there any?

What is coming under judgement is the institutions purporting to be the Church. Now, there’s sufficient evidence for that, surely?

  77. Nila Yeo Nov 5th 2012

I apologize, I have to agree. But in many ways, it’s still our fault.

  78. Roger Nov 5th 2012

    I read this today, source:

..and offer it for your consideration.

A Word for All of Us.

It has been drawn to my attention that the path of Hurricane Sandy made the shape of the Hebrew Letter LAMED, ל I find that most interesting as this letter in Hebrew means to learn, it also speaks of the King of Kings. This very strongly indicates to me that the King of Kings is not only telling us something but He is teaching us how He feels about what is happening in the United States of America.

When I first noticed the path of the storm Sandy looked like Lamed, I stopped and begin to pray over this, and during prayer and asking God what did this mean, I heard in my spirit that small still voice that speaks to those who know His Voice.

“This is the beginning of Great Sorrows for the Churches have fornicated with other gods and have offered up prayers that are a stench to my nostrils. Those who have called themselves people of God have deceived the people and fed their own bellies with unclean foods of greed and spiritual pride. No man can save them now, for those who know me and I them must know My Word is the Beginning and the End of all things, now it must rain on the just and the unjust alike. There is still time for repentance for those who have sinned against Me, but Judgment now will fall on the Nations who have come against Jerusalem and My people.

As for Jerusalem I say to you, I will cleanse my house first, fall on your faces and repent before it is too late. You have invited horrible sins into My House and the time for cleansing has come near”

  79. Andrew Nov 5th 2012

Yes – I do believe the Western church is under a form of judgment. And the church worldwide has for years taken its lead from America. That is where the influence has been.

So this is a very serious time for that nation – especially if she is spreading “abominations” in the earth. I love America, and feel very sad at what has happened.

I have to conclude – it is Revival or Judgment. Maybe both. Perhaps great “shaking” will lead to real repentance at last?

    Bless you!

    Andrew Strom.

  80. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

Roger, there’s nothing there I would take issue with.

All I will say, or perhaps repeat, is: let’s be careful of the things of God. To declare a judgement of God upon a nation is a very grave matter indeed; to spread that news around is worse, unless it is irrefutably true.

Andrew, by Western church do you mean what is commonly perceived as the church or do you mean the Body?

  81. Here is how I see the whole idea of God’s judgment….. for example, say we are the committed believer in our home. However, we live with an unbelieving spouse who is deep in sin. Among other things they gamble away the families’ income, are involved in drug crimes, look at porn in your full view, and constantly bring ungodly people into your home, of which you have no say. Worse yet, your teenagers now are influenced by him and have started to do many of the things that your spouse does. Your home is a war zone. You are heart broken over the state of your family, but are completely powerless, save prayer, to change any of them.

Through natural consequences, your spouse looses his job and the family now has no income. Your children throw a big party and accidentally burnt down your home and you have no insurance and no money to replace your belongings, or home. Your husband ends up in jail, your children in foster care. Now you are penniless, homeless, and completely devastated, through no fault of your own. The next day, you find out your have cancer.

Was God “judging” you? Was God “judging” the spouse and, or, children? It would sure FEEL like judgment!

I believe that the U.S. is made up of many scenarios just like that. There are Godly people who have NOT bowed down to other gods. There are also rebellious people who snub their noses at God, and I believe there are all sorts of people who fall somewhere in the middle. And of course, many innocent children. GOD alone, knows the hearts of the people.

America is a leader in the world. More smut, filth, and rebellion comes from that country by way of the MEDIA, than all other countries combined! For God NOT to move, in my opinion, would make Him an unjust God!

I don’t want to see ANYONE suffer! I want people to repent! I want to walk in a state of repentance, myself. But, I am also heart sick over all the filth that I see coming put out of so-called Hollywood. If God would be merciful especially the children of the world, by stopping the flow of money and resources that allow this sin to go on, then I say; “bring in on, Righteous Judge”.

I do care about all the human suffering, but I think I care more about the people being corrupted, especially the children. As devastating as my example was, in many ways it would be that woman’s freedom and deliverance for God to remove her from that life she was living, though it may take her some time to realize it.

When judgment does fall, there is great mercy for the innocent. God PROMISES that He won’t pour out His wrath on those righteous because of His blood. Like the poor woman in my scenario, God WILL take up their case and bring mercy and deliverance to them, if they are innocent. Sadly, though, they will suffer. Many people in the Bible suffered, because of others sins. That is inevitable, but I don’t believe the righteous need to fear.

I think it’s important that our attitudes are one of humility, realizing that we, too, could be in the path of judgment if we are causing little ones to sin.

  82. Andrew,

Have you heard about or read “The Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn or his dvd presentation, “The Isaiah 9:10 Effect” ? He ties in many scripture parallels between the USA and Israel and their respective relationships with God on a national level. He likens many of the events you allude to as warnings (harbingers) of coming judgement, rather than the actual judgement itself. Like Israel before her fall to the Assyrians, or Judah to the Babylonians, we are at risk to similar catastrophic judgement if we don’t heed God’s warnings, repent of our national sin, and turn to God in humble prayer. What we have suffered so far is a mere inconvenience compared to what is coming if we stubbornly resist his call.

  83. ValleyAnt Nov 5th 2012

    Let me quote some:

Markus, you quoted the sum: “Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Lk. 13.

Johan Laubser, you wrote: “Do not turn a blind eye on the influence of the Free Masons and Illuminati. We spiritualise too much.”

Simon, you wrote: “There is overwhelming evidence that Hurricane Sandy ‘FRANKENSTORM’ WAS Man-made using HAARP.”

Terry, you wrote: “God’s judgment includes giving us the leaders we want.”

Michelle, you said, “The problem is pride. Ask anyone who does not go to church or homechurch what the main thing they dislike about Christians they know or see regularly. The answer is pride.”

Pamela, well said. How can God judge an entire nation that hasn’t yet heard the true gospel?

When Jesus ascended, His followers stood staring up after Him. Then angels appeared and asked them, “Why do you stand staring into the skies…” We stare into the skies (search for signs) and spiritualize way too much. The Bible said these things will happen in the last days with wars, etc. Only a weak and pathetic god would use these methods to awaken people. What obligation do unbelievers have to God; yet, will Christians be turned to repentance due to these kinds of hardships. How then are weak and murderous ‘acts of nature’ God’s doing?! In the Bible, only satan disturbed the weather for evil against the innocent; is it now God doing it?

America is strangled by pride to such an extent that I’ve longed to move to South America where there’s still natural regard and brotherly love. America’s pride will judge it, and its agreement with satan will destroy it. We need to stop staring at the skies for ‘signs of the times’ and start staring our neighbors and ourselves in the heart. Stop prognosticating and wondering why. Sin destroys nations, and for America and all nations it isn’t what is outward (suicide, abortion, hatred, lying, all the signs of Death) as much as inward sin. “Man looks at the outward… but the LORD looks on the heart.” If we want to do more than talk and wonder and feel emotional pangs of woe and sorrow, it BEHOOVES us to start looking at the heart of people and things as God does and therefore move from head and armpit scratching to quietness, confidence, and Solution.

  84. Kate in NY said: “The United States has not been singled out above and beyond other countries, in spite of what you believe, think, and say.”

The United States produces MOST of the media of the world. The media, with Satan at its’ helm, is corrupting much of the world.

ALL of the Countries in the world are filled with ungodly, unholy, and down right evil people. However, not all countries have the influence by way of media, that the U.S., does. This makes her unique.

  85. God does not judge true Christians. If we understand the gospel message of Jesus Christ, we know that our Savior Jesus Christ stands in our place before the Judge (God). If Jesus stands in our place, will God judge His perfect sinless Son? If true Christians are judged, the salvation message of Jesus Christ has no power. We are not judged for our sins, or our good deeds. We as true Christians are blessed and rewarded for our obedience to the will of God.

  86. Tdwass Nov 5th 2012

I see it more as a judgement against Christians in the United States. God has been taken out of the schools. Abortion, pornography, lesbianism and homosexuality is accepted as a normal way of life in the United States. It does not matter who gets elected or what party wins. Christians spend most of their time praying for more money, bigger houses and cars. The prosperity message has diverted the truth about faith teaching. If Christians in the United States would get the revelation that if they “humble themselves and pray and seek His face” God could turn this situation completely around in a matter of hours. Unfortunately, Christians would rather debate which party is better than pray. If they would quit trying to do things in the flesh (debates and protests) and pray, God would deliver them from the mess that they are in. This is a wake up call to the Christians in North America and also a warning to the rest of the world that they had also better start praying for God to move in their own countries, before they end up like the United States.

  87. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

Gary, whilst I’m not disagreeing with you, I would ask, why did Peter tell us judgement begins at the House of God?

  88. Keith Nov 5th 2012

Andrew – this is not a theological response. But merely one to suggest that you take care with your ‘natural disaster’ facts. Because the truth is that we are in a near-record LOW of hurricane activity. The last hurricane 3 storm to hit the US East Coast was Wilma in 2005. That is a huge lull in activity. Whereas in 1954/55 there were no less than THREE such hurricanes in the space of twelve months – and all potentially vastly more damaging than Sandy. I say ‘potentially’, because at that time we had not put so many people or valuables in harms way, and therefore the dollar costs were much lower. But do not mistake the dollar costs of recovering from Sandy, for the actual severity of the storm.
Likewise the US is living through an extended period of relatively very low tornado, drought, and flood activity. Indeed, when you examine the actual facts (rather than our emotional responses), then one would have to conclude that the US has been remarkably protected in recent times from natural disasters (as opposed to the man-induced dollar impacts of these events). If such disasters had indeed been maintained at earlier levels (let alone at INCREASED levels) then the outcomes would have been immeasurably worse.
So if God is involved, then it would appear that he has been WITHOLDING judgement, rather than dispensing it. I will leave others to reason why. And whether we deserve it.

  89. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

As I write this we are at comment 87.

Reading all of them a second time, for many posters it seems to be a case of wishful thinking, of reading back the Bible to find a suitable answer for the sin of the world and lighting on whatever catastrophe as a judgement of God. We haven’t spoken out against abortion, pornography, drugs or whatever, therefore God will do it for us, but in His own way.

Sort of vicarious vindication of all we believe but haven’t acted upon.

  90. Andrew Nov 5th 2012

Keith – since most of the following are virtually “worst ever” disasters in the USA, and they have happened in just the last 11 years, one after the other – this seems to refute your statement-

2001 – TWIN TOWERS – The worst ever attack on American soil.
The most devastating event in living memory.

2005 – HURRICANE KATRINA – The most destructive and expensive hurricane in US history.

2007 – MASSACRE AT VIRGINIA TECH – The worst school shooting in the history of the United States.

2007 – HOUSING CRISIS – Start of the worst (by far) housing crash in US history. Millions lose their homes across the nation.

2008 – FINANCIAL PANIC – The beginning of the worst economic
crisis since the Great Depression. (-Still ongoing).

2011 – TORNADO OUTBREAK – The largest outbreak of tornadoes ever recorded. (Also the costliest and most devastating).

2012 – DROUGHT – The worst and most extensive US drought in
    more than half a century.

    2012 – SUPER-STORM – A 1000-mile-wide hurricane that slams
into New York and the East Coast harder than any ever recorded.

    Bless you, my friend.

    -Andrew Strom.

  91. I would not have any doubts about sending a warning to us ! LOOK at the attitudes and actions of todays society ( yes, even some of them who say they are CHRISTIANS) ! GOD is mocked and made fun of almost daily on television or in the media, so why wouldn’t we think HE has had enough ? it wouldn’t be the first time a runaway society has been judged !

  92. Such an interesting Topic, well done Andrew. What is arguably a greater issue would be the question. Is America God’s Israel? If it is, then Andrews question is the answer, America is under Judgement for all her harlotries. What I can’t figure though is, “How did America become God’s Israel?”

  93. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

Andrew, five out of eight disasters listed are directly attributable to acts of man. Surely, then, these disasters are a natural justice, a consequential justice. Fly a plane into a tower block and people are going to get hurt. Fiddle the mortgage books and it’s going to collapse, people are going to lose their homes. Off load sub machine guns in a packed school and people will be killed.

And Andrew, frankly, modern prairie farming methods, which have here in the East of England as well, tend to soil erosion and dustbowls. It interferes with the normal cycles of rain and evaporation. hence our weather patterns have altered too.

Let’s be quite clear, which of these listed above is an act of God and which is a natural consequence of man’s Godlessness.

  94. Al Moody Nov 5th 2012

The average tenure of a world power since the days of Babylon is 238 years. The U.S. is over 200 and circling the drain and picking up speed.

  95. Al Moody Nov 5th 2012

    @ Richard Savage…
When God metes out His judgement, He uses a variety of venues. repeatedly He refers to Nebuchadnezzar as His “servant” while he was executing judgement on Israel

  96. Al Moody Nov 5th 2012

I don’t really get caught up in whether this is or isn’t God’s judgement…
His mandate to me and mine is to go into all the world and preach the gospel, and He will take care of His business however He chooses

  97. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

Zookeeper – like a breath of fresh air on a stuffy evening. I’m grateful to you.

If we say this is a judgement of God, what will it be when Yellowstone Park and a third of the land mass of the US gets airborne?

Al Moody, I don’t doubt you’re correct in your math, but does not the God of the Bible act, or react, to the deeds of man?

  98. Richard Savage Nov 5th 2012

Surely Al Moody, how we view God, and God in relation to man is germain to the gospel we preach.

  99. Gordon Nov 5th 2012

God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:17

  100. Andrew Nov 5th 2012

    Amen, Gordon.

And hopefully that is exactly what will happen through all this ‘Shaking’

  101. Richard Savage – Thank you

I think it is very easy to forget some of the simple revelations of Jesus Himself. Sowing and Reaping. It is basic, but it is a reality for the Mother USA. We try and blame everything else but never ourselves. Consider this, there would be at any one time over a million American Christians in Prayer for their beloved nation. I mean 24-7 Christian Prayer networks, individual believers, phone prayer, REAL FAITH Prayer [haha], crying prayer, intercessory prayer, I mean just going for it, plundering the gates of hell and Claiming Everything for their well-being. SO what am I missing here???? These eight and even more catastrophes are real. Maybe this is more than a discussion about Mother, rather this topic reaches deep into the grass roots of everything we believe.

  102. Andrew, i have not spent time to count events world wide, but i have the impression that it is happening world wide -not just in the US?
Either way this is a sign of the times?
In Oz .we have had Qld Cyclones resulting in Qld, NSW, Vic, massive floods. and huge losses Also bushfires ( ). China, Japan, India Africa. In the middle East Asia Minor, one disaster after another, wars etc. all come to my mind.
This would seem to be supported by scriptures such as Ecclesiastes 9:!!
    Isaiah 24
Psalms 102 particularly verse 25 to end, note His people shall endure!
    !! Tim 3 – dangerous times.
Revelation 7 – the four angels holding back destructive winds until the -folk who “have ears to hear” are sealed – Spirit filled – made saints
    Regards to all
    Pr Michael

  103. Andrew Nov 5th 2012

Yes, Michael – you are right. There is worldwide “shaking” right now. But being the major leader of the world, I still feel the USA has a specific place in all this.

    “To whom much is given…”

    Bless you!

  104. but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:24 NASB)

“Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?’ (Ezekiel 33:11 NASB)

Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.” (Exodus 34:6-7 NASB)

The Lord exercises lovingkindness (Grace), justice & righteousness on earth – this is what He does…

The Lord delights in lovingkindness (Grace), justice & righteousness…

The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked…

The Lord keeps lovingkindness (Grace) for thousands…

The Lord forgives iniquity, transgression and sin (for these thousands)…

Yet (because of His justice) He will by no means leave the guilty (the wicked) unpunished…

He delights in justice but He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked…

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; (Proverbs 24:17 NASB)

He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth…

He is the Saviour of all men especially those who believe…

He did not come into the world to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him…

But those who have not believed in the Salvation which He provided – who have not received this Salvation – they are condemned already because they have not believed in the Name of the Only Begotten Son of God…

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18 KJV)

When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world. (1 Corinthians 11:32 NIV)

because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. (Proverbs 3:12 NIV)

The Lord’s judgement on the thousands upon whom He has kept lovingkindness (Grace) for is His discipline (not His condemnation, not His justice) and is in Love…

It proves that we are His sons…

For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17 NASB)

Even though we (as those who have had lovingkindness kept for us) are not under condemnation (as we are new creations in the Eyes of God) we are still in need of His judgement (His discipline) to remove from us all the results of sin which used to reign in our mortal bodies…

He needs to undo all those iniquities of the fathers which have been visited on us – those ingrained patterns of sinning which we find so hard to break…

It is His Love towards us to do this…

He must judge us before He can judge the world…

He must perfect us before He can come in judgement towards the world…

Now is still The Day of Salvation and it is in this Day that He must judge us (the objects of His lovingkindness, His Grace)…

It is not yet The Day of Vengeance of our God (although I believe that this is very close)…

In this Day He will judge the world without mercy…

because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! (James 2:13 NIV)

For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 NASB)

Does this mean that God is not presently judging the wicked?

God is a righteous judge, And a God who has indignation every day. If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. (Psalm 7:11 NASB & Psalm 7:12 NIV)

He is, sometimes He relents, sometimes He does not…

What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? (Romans 9:22 NASB)

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance? (Romans 2:4 NIV)

Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. (2 Peter 3:15 NIV)

If the Lord demonstrates His wrath – His justice – He has every right to do so…

He can do this whenever He wants to…

It is His sheer mercy, His longsuffering and His patience which causes Him to “hold back” on many more acts of wrath (vengeance, retribution) which He has every right to pour out on the wicked (the guilty)…

He does not pour out wrath, vengeance and retribution on those who have had lovingkindness (Grace) kept for them but those who have had lovingkindness (Grace) kept for them may very well be disciplined in these same acts…

This is for our (those of us who have had our iniquity, trangression and sin forgiven) good that we may share in His Holiness…

So one act of God may have wrath, vengeance and retribution towards one group of people and also have discipline and love towards another…

  105. Michelle d. Nov 6th 2012

    My dear brothers & sisters…
I thank God for his mercy on the USA
Mercy … without judgment is cruelty…
Some of us pray… whatever it takes revival….
    We are spoiled…
Dare we complain as God brings revival… God we pray for whatever it takes… Be merciful to us… Lord shield us in the shadow of your wings
Lord meet us in your mercy and truth… forgive us bring revival… Forgive us Lord…. Whatever it takes… Revival…

  106. Karyn Nov 6th 2012

I don’t know if any of you have read the Harbinger but if you read that it makes sense of a lot that is happening in the US. We can all learn from it. No nation is exempt. God doesn’t allow these things to punish, His desire is that no one will perish and if we repent and turn from our wicked ways and seek His face He will heal our land.

  107. Leslie Flinn Nov 6th 2012

Here is where judgement begins when it does: 1 Peter 4:17-18
    New King James Version (NKJV)
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Now
“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”[a]

Peter is referring to “saved as by fire” Christians of who Lot is a type. The only fruit he had was bad. Genesis 19:1-38 and 2 Peter 2:7-8
These “judgements” as you call them are done by the devil, allowed by God and are the cost for sinners choosing to live in the devil’s kingdom. God does not do these things. They are allowed because some may see the folly of living in the devil’s kingdom and repent.
The church, not sinners, are at fault for these things because they are not doing what Jesus says to do the way He says to do it. Matthew 10:7-8 and Mark 16:17-18. Disciples who are in fellowship with Jesus are EXPECTED to have authority over these things. Matthew 8:23-27. However it requires Hebrews 11 FAITH and unity in the Holy Spirit, NOT a spirit of unity.

  108. Does anyone notice any correlation between these events?
    1. October 11, 1987, massive march for homosexual rights in Washington D.C. October 19, 1987, stock market crash.
    2. October 15, 1989, huge pro-abortion march in San Francisco, marching past City Hall. Two days later, October 17, 7.1 earthquake in San Francisco, people fleeing City Hall screaming in terror.
    3. October 30, 1991, President George H.W. Bush initiated Madrid Peace Process to divide Israel and give land for peace. On that very day the “Perfect Storm” sent 30 foot waves against Bush’s Kennebunkport, Maine, home.
    4. August 23, 2005, the day the last Israeli left Gaza after George W. Bush pressured Israel to pullout of 25 settlements, Katrina became a hurricane. On August 28th, it slammed into New Orleans and Southern Decadence had to be cancelled.
    5. Seven years to the day, August 28, 2012, Hurricane Isaac slammed into New Orleans, but the homosexuals vowed to continue Southern Decadence in the midst of the destruction.
    6. May 19 and 22, 2011, President Obama spoke in favor of Israel moving back to its 1967 borders. During the May 19th speech, the Mississippi River overflowed and flooded millions of acres of farmland. On May 22nd, a mere 7 hours after President Obama gave the same speech, a tornado cut through Joplin, Missouri, destroying most of it.
    7. September 11, 2012, President Obama told Israel it was on its own in fighting Iran and he refused to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu. The same day, the U.S. Embassy in Egypt and the consulate in Libya were attacked, killing our ambassador to Libya and those who tried to protect him.

I posted this on Facebook. We ignore these events at our own peril because I think we are under strong warning if not outright judgment.

  109. Audrey Pannier – I agree. Can i use your research on my site

Sowing and Reaping happens. Christians sometimes are guilty of trying to avoid the inevitable, without paying true homage to the Judge of all the Earth. Like in Christ is Freedom, in the World is Judgement. Does anyone get the feeling we’re in a slow motion reality show, of the Words of Jesus “When you see these things happening” we just didn’t realise this could be rolling out over decades.

I heard of a wonderful Christian couple killed in the Boxing Day tsunami while on holiday in Phuket. I mean Hello!! Surely we’re not living in the days, where the righteous should holiday in cities of harlotry. Jesus said to Flee…. And so we should all be careful about our comings and goings.

  110. April Nov 6th 2012

I believe history shows that nations are indeed judged and we can take the former Soviet Union as an example. It experienced many famines and profound loss of life following the Bolshevik revolution. Google- “famines in the former Soviet Union.” Not to mention the three year blockade of LENINgrad in which many thousands starved to death. (city named after Lenin and place where the Russian Revolution began) These judgments, including WW2 (Russia suffered the highest loss of life- 30 MILLION dead), seem to follow the persecution of believers- and state sanctioned attack on Christianity.

“He who defiles the temple of God will himself be destroyed.”

New York City- my former home, home of many solid, awesome believers. I hope we are praying for the many suffering people there right now that they would see the love and nature of Christ in us! But NYC does have a darker side_ it’s the capital of the media industry, home of the United Nations, and the financial capital of the US. Are any of these institutions offensive to the Jesus Christ…or even anti-Christ- in their goal, message and agenda…very much so.

Hopefully these things lead us to greater personal repentance and fear of the Lord. As Jesus said when the towers fell in his time…”Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? 5*****I tell you, no,****** but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:4-5)

I think we need to seek the Lord! May we have a greater heart for holiness, and a greater heart for those around us! May we bear good fruit and have a good word to say in season- with BOLDNESS- truth – power and love.

Stand up and speak to a dying world! Allow the waters of life to pour forth from you to those in need. Who knows if you were not born, as Esther, for such a time as this? May we be wise regarding the time we live in.

  111. What needs to happen before people understand when a nation is being judged by God?

We have been in the ‘time of sorrows’ or ‘ birth pains’, for decades but many see it as just another natural disaster, ‘we can rebuild’, ‘we can get through it’ they say, and God continues to increase the judgments until all the enemies of the Lord are made His footstool, until all the proud are brought down low.

The whole earth is going through birth pains and judgments are in the whole world because of sin and rebellion against Almighty God. Jesus is coming quickly and every prophetic word of God that was uttered will be fulfilled.

Here is something to think about; when the plagues of the fifth and sixth trumpet start to fall upon mankind, many will still not repent of their sins!

    Revelation 9:20-21

“But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”

so what’s that saying about the utter depravity of multitudes of people in these last days?

Also when God sends the angels to pour our His wrath on the beast and his kingdom they will blaspheme God and still not repent.

    Revelation 16:1,10-11

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.”

“Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.”

Concerning America, is this nation not the ‘Mother of Harlots’?

    Revelation 17:1-5

“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

“So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,

  112. Bill Harper Nov 6th 2012

My comments can best be made through one of the poems I wrote some time ago:

    by Bill Harper
    September 13, 1995

Though an unwanted orphan at first,
    his heritage almost seemed cursed,
infant Sammy tried hard to do right.
No blue blood was he when first born,
a mixed breed who thus suffered scorn,
none the less he was cheerful and bright.

He hated tyranny in his youth,
as he fought for right and the truth,
and the king’s tea he dumped in the sea.
A bold, brazen, young man he seemed,
but a beautiful dream he dreamed,
of a place where all men were free.

He became a righteous young man,
Fulfilling his dream in his plan,
as he sheltered the poor and oppressed.
He worshipped his God and his Lord,
whose commandments he left not ignored,
and his place was the land of the blessed.

He learned the value of prayer,
for the things of God he did care,
as he strove, the Almighty, to please.
When right seemed hard to achieve,
    in spirit, often he’d grieve,
and in prayer, Sammy would go to his knees.

The Lord who hears the righteous one’s cry,
would, very soon, to Sammy draw nigh,
and Sammy was blessed by his God.
He excelled above all of his peers,
he was prosperous beyond his years,
as long as, in God’s ways, he trod.

His justice was an unusual style,
the right to a speedy trial,
and his system of law was the best.
Justice was quick and was fair,
to those who came under his care,
and his ideals were put to the test.

One day every week he would rest,
as he dressed in his Sunday best,
and took time to worship his Lord.
His businesses were closed on that day,
his employees could take time to pray,
spiritual strength would then be restored.

He once fought a war for the slave,
then freedom, to him, he gave.
He cried liberty and justice for all.
He fought other wars in his time,
    tyranny he considered a crime.
He caused many dictators to fall.

To the poor he extended his aid,
the debts of the widow were paid,
and the old got a check in the mail.
He became generous to a fault,
as he squandered the gold in his vault,
and he lived like he’d never fail.

As Sammy began to grow older,
his love for his God grew much colder.
He forgot lessons learned in his youth.
He set up idols in his heart,
    pornography he condoned as art,
and he no longer he cared for the truth.

He has lifted his heart up in pride.
His old standards he cast aside,
as he sought the approval of men.
    He murders the pre-born child,
by the Sodomite he is defiled,
and he no longer calls wickedness sin.

It’s a tyrant that he has become,
forgetting where he has come from,
he oppresses those under his care.
He doesn’t have a day for the Lord.
    Decency is almost ignored, his
    filthy talk is heard everywhere.

    His heritage he has forgotten,
Sammy’s heart is now turning rotten,
he robs the working to pay the whore.
His virtue is a thing of the past,
but the thing that he lives on won’t last,
though he lives like there’ll always be more.

Long ago he forgot how to kneel,
with a contrite heart full of zeal,
praying for those in his care.
But the posture again he will take,
as the hearts of his servants all quake,
in his time of utter despair.

For the day is coming real soon,
of the bursting of Sammy’s balloon,
and his old heart, in terror, will freeze.
His few righteous ones will sorrow then,
remembering the things that have been,
when UNCLE SAMmy is thrown to his knees.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the
nations that forget God. Psalm 9:17

  113. Barry Schmidt Nov 6th 2012

In past ages God did indeed discipline nation states and there is nothing in the Scriptures that teaches that God no longer does this. However I think it is unwise to extend dogmatism beyond the authority of The Bible in assuming this is what God is doing to any particular country. However the New Testament in Romans 1:18-35 clearly describes Gods judgement not in term of discpline via natural disasters and economic tribulations but I terms of turning people over to do what they want. The former is loving discipline while the latter is judgement.

To assume that a lack of divine protection from suffering and hardship from economic hardship, natural disasters and even violent terrorist attacks are God’ s personal disfavor and judgment is just plain antibiblical folly. If that is the case then Paul and the early believers were under Gods judgment as well. Look what God gave them over to! Look what “protection” God removed from these beloved saints!

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written,

The biblical reality is there is not such thing as a “Christian nation” and with the exception of Isreal there is no such things as a state or country that ” belongs to God” any more than any more than any other nation state. Likewise ( aGain with the exception of Isreal) there is no such teaching in the inspired apostolic teachings as nation states that are given the choice to repent or recieve judgement. This is a bogus notion and has no foundation in biblical reality.
Can sow one please show me where this is taught by either Jesus or the apostolic authors?
In the gospel God calls individuals to repent, kings to repent (John the baptist calling Herod to repent) and individual churches to repent ( see Revelation 1-3) but nowhere in the apostlic faith does God call nations states to repent .

The truth is that in the last days all nations will be brought under increasingly sever hardships and disasters with the divine motive to bring INDIVIDUALS to repentance and faith in Christ. When In all of history when disasters came to entire nations were Gods dearly favored and faithful people escape suffering along with the godless. When disaster comes to a city the godly churches and godly Men’s houses are ruined, flooded and destroyed. When God ordains a famine or an economic recession the godly lose the jobs along with the wicked.

    Protection removed”

  114. Barry Schmidt Nov 6th 2012

    Sorry I meant to type:
To say that removed protection from hardship is a sign of divine judgment and disfavor has no foundation or evidence in either the New Testament or in the experience of millions of faithful saints living in the midst of natural disasters and catastrophic upheavals who suffered every bit as much as the wicked in midst of those disasters, famines, depressions and invasions.
Surely no one would dare to accuse those faithful saints as being under divine judgement!! Their we’re beloved of God -godly families who lost loved ones in 911.
Their are thousands of faithful, praying pure, holy Jesus loving people whose houses and lands were repossessed in the stock market crash of 2008. Their are thousands of faithful saints on the east coast who are suffering under Sandy’s wrath.
Jesus said ” whoever serves Me will be where I am.” let me tell you where Jesus is in all this disaster hitting our dear friends in the USA. He is there among them helping them, feeding them, comforting them. Let me tell you where Jesus IS NOT. HE IS NOT STANDING BACK WRITING , ” Tisk Tisk” to the USA!

  115. jackrabbit Nov 6th 2012

I think that The Lord is having to continue to judge the world for its sins, not just The US.

The scripture indicates that God would far rather have fellowship with man through reconcilliation of mans’ intimate relationship with Him through repentance of sins for the remission of sins than judgement of the world for its sins. The scripture makes it clear that God finds no pleasure in the judgement of the sinners for their sins. It is because God finds pleasure in relationships that revolve around love and would far rather have happy relationships. Judgement is about justice, not God’s happiness. When it is about God’s happiness, it is about relationships that revolve around love.

I asked God about it once and He told me that because people do not understand judgement for sins they think that there isn’t any. Sometimes God just punishes part of the body and the rest of the body mourns for them.

Revival will bring people back to love for God and one another and fellowship that revolves around love with God and one another. This is the sort of thing that can bring an end to God having to continue to judge the world for its sins.

Personally I think that there is going to be a revival and it is going to be led by whom God chooses. It is God’s decision to make whom He wants for an evangelist to lead a revival and God is going to test anyone whom He chooses.

  116. Richard Savage Nov 6th 2012

Barry Schmidt, just excellent! Thank you.

‘ … no such thing as a Christian nation.’ How true. We’re so often being reminded here in the UK of our past history as a Christian Nation. This, like America, has never been such and never can be because Biblically such a thing doesn’t exist!

  117. Yes excellent comments Barry Schmidt (and Richard Savage).

‘ … no such thing as a Christian nation.’

“has never been such and never can be because Biblically such a thing doesn’t exist!”

  118. The list of “disasters” is hardly “major” from a world perspective. They are only major to those who who usually live in relative safety and comfort.

Try comparing them to the same kind of thing often experienced in other parts of the world. But of course, those places and people aren’t valued to the same extent by the western media and the damage doesn’t often include western owned infrastructure – just poor “inisgnificant” people and their very basic homes.

  119. Barry Schmidt
You make a good point about judgement We lived through cyclone Tracy in Darwin ’73 our cavity wall double brick home was made unlivable, at midnight we retreated to our bathroom (the safest place in our house ) with our preschool children ( I have never been so frightened in all my life!) the children also dry retching – terrified – would not allow my wife and i to stop praying and singing, in about 10 min’s. they both fell asleep in our arms and remained so for the next six hours it took for the cyclone to pass. In that first10 minutes all fear left us and we had a quiet assurance that we would be ok, even though we could hear the sound of our house being battered, the roof being torn off, windows exploding etc Darwin city was flattened.!

Our prayer after the fear left was for those who did not enjoy our Siprit filled experience. – For our family we had a fifth presence with us that terrible night!, for me next morning the miracle was that thousands that did not die amongst the rubble that was Darwin that morning Weeks later a christian group letter dropped the NT. claiming that God had punished the people of Darwin because of its name which, they said, should be changed !
one interesting thing ,our 6 year old daughter asked Jesus to look after the xmas presents on the kitchen table. Next morning a plastic table cloth was still draped over them – the only dry things in the whole house, including us! The bath full of black smelly water washed out from 7 years dust in the ceiling! I As a result of her concern over mere presents (understandable in a 6 year old? ) I have first hand experience that God cares about things that to us may seem trivial! “Not one sparrow………” said Jesus.
I must confess that nearly 40 years after that event i still am overwhelmed when thinking of that night and how we were blessed comforted and yes delivered, preserved!
    Pr Michael

  120. Andrew Nov 6th 2012

    Disasters are not necessarily “judgment”.

But a row of at least 8 in 11 years just might be.

    Bless you!

  121. Andrew Nov 6th 2012

    And in the meantime…

    Welcome to Election Day, America!

    What “delights” await, I wonder??

  122. Election day predictions

A politician will win the election.
The elected president won’t produce any answers
People will be disillusioned with the result.

  123. Lance Nov 6th 2012

Hi Andrew – Yes, America is a leader in many worldly aspects but unfortunately, as you pointed out, is a ‘teacher’ in many aspects that are totally ungodly.
Perhaps, directly or not, this is a ‘warning’ as much for certain spiritual teachers (leaders) in America as it is for the government and the people.
    Stop the spiritual perversion!!!
Refer to 2 Peter – in particular chapter 2.

  124. ValleyAnt Nov 6th 2012

I’ve only read up to my own post so far.

Goodwordtoday, you wrote: “We don’t have a civilization which routinely sells its children into sex slavery…” I’m afraid that you’re mistaken. The longest running criminal trial in American history for a long time (might still be) revolved around the above and worse. Like most cases like it, powerful people were involved, so it didn’t hit the media big, and few know about it: the McMartin Preschool trials in Manhattan Beach, CA. You wrote: “Toynbee argued that ‘Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder.'” True.

John, you wrote that pride, fleshly satisfaction, abdication of responsibility, and lovelessness (paraphrase) led Sodom to its fall [and must lead the same for America]. I agree. You wrote: “These base men who conspire… to rule [the world] are being set up… for a fall.” For absolute sure.

Michael, I’m also Nigerian but live in the States. I’ bu onye Igbo?

Hi, Doug Riggs. I’ve spoken with you before (if you are the former pastor of a Morning Star) and hope the ministry to ‘survs’ is going well.

Nicole, thanks for the article by Bill Wilson.

Andrew Strom, maybe you’re ‘too eager’ for revival and may be trying to ‘make things fit’. Seeing eyes see that the Lord means salvation for America though destruction is also imminent. We would do better to think and speak about things that edify on this forum. The Bible never tells us to wonder about these things; it does tell us to encourage and share with one another revelations, words, hymns, spiritual songs, etc. These debates and ponderings on these topics don’t promote the unity of the Spirit.

Janie, you quoted the sum on how the Lord sees America: “But Ninevah has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city” (Jon. 4). How can God abandon those trained only in unrighteousness who don’t know their right from their left, whose continual diet in and out of churches is sin and selfishness and who haven’t yet experienced true religion. God CARES for this nation; should He not furthermore be CONCERNED for its miserable state?

  125. Sheeja John Nov 6th 2012

BECAUSE OF TRANSGRESSION, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth to the ground. He did all this and prospered. – Daniel 8:12

YAHWEH takes away His hand of protection and gives them over to destruction, when people knowingly and willfully rebel against Him and His commandments. He does give them plenty of warnings before bringing in His judgments. But when people mock Him and ignore the warnings, He permits the judgment to fall.
Many a times the righteous do get caught up in the judgment along with the wicked, as was Caleb and Joshua in the wilderness for forty years, or Daniel, Hananiah, Azariah and Mishael in the captivity. But such ones do find grace and mercy extended to them, and they are sustained through those times of calamity/judgment.
And Yes! Nations/States are blessed, called to repentance or are judged in keeping with the lives of its people in general.

  126. As i read the posts above, one thing comes to mind.Romans 8 particularly verse 28!
and this not a cop out clause for God’s people just to wash our hands!
The cycloneTracy experience was and still is traumatic for many of those who went through it. some are traumatized even to this day, I sometimes meet and talk with some of them – In stark contrast, to us, it became a blessing, as our faith, zeal and love was strengthened through that night..
Not that i would wish disaster on others ,, but i would wish the result we as a family had, on all, as that was only positive. May this be true for that “Great People” our US cousins, and particularly the brethren in Christ there
    Pr Michael

  127. I reject your idea Andrew. Markus and then Pamela replied biblically. We have a NEW covenant in and trough Jesus. The whole world is under judgment. yet God loves the people of the world so much taht he gave us Jesus.

  128. Keith Nov 6th 2012

    Amen to Ian T above.

And Andrew – in response to yours re my earlier challenge on the natural disasters.

Do not confuse storm (or tornado/drought etc) SEVERITY with its destructiveness and dollar cost. These latter may indeed register high in recent years, but this is because of the extra people and property we have put in harms way – NOT because of the event’s actual strength or frequency. If you compare natural disasters on THIS basis (ie of their strength and frequency), then you will find that we have been in a relatively good place in recent years.

  129. Bryan Nov 6th 2012

You should add the Fort Hood shooting, and the Batman Movie Massacre too Andrew.

  130. I reckon these are just tiny warnings that the end times are here, the natural dissasters of which will wipe out most of mankind, Isiah says somewhere – that man will then be rarer than gold.
Probably is a judgement, or early poart of it too.
Martin Scott, UK recently (last Aug i think), had a word predicting that a great STORM IN THE USA would soon be a sign that the CRISIS IN THE WESTERN WORLD HAD STARTED!
I BELIEVE A GREAT FLOOD OF DECEPTION IS DUE, ANY WEEK NOW (GUESSOLOGY), That Bentley in 2008 was just the devils test run to see how effectively he could promote such on the God channel and Elijah List etc.It turns out to be very effectively.

  131. Bryan Nov 6th 2012

I am registered GOP, but I am not voting for President since I don’t care for either of them. I like Tom Smith for Pa. Senate though. Romney reminds me of what the Apostle Paul calls a White Washed Tomb. God is not for the GOP no matter how much they play that up. Though since God is Sovereign, God has decreed everything the GOP does to happen, along with everything else in history too. I think one of the biggest problems with American Christians is the lack of good fundamental teachings in the Sovereignty Of God, the Attributes Of God, and Total Depravity. Thankfully, Arthur W. Pink wrote 3 very good books on these subjects which should be read by all.

    Bless you,

  132. M. Scott believes that the last storm was that sign. I witnessed to that in the Spirit. This gives us an indication of how this flood of deception will arrive. It will be huge, all encompassing but not as dramatic as some storms (only grade 1), but will do far far more damage and woill be hard for our churches to recover from.

  133. Bryan Nov 6th 2012

Steve, Just test the Spirits ASAP, meaning first thing, buy asking the Spirit who is Lord. Even if it is actually the Lord Himself, He would not be mad at you for asking since His word says to test the Spirits. Though, I have never had to opportunity to test a Spirit; I would ASAP though if I did.

  134. Bryan Nov 6th 2012

A good read here about deception for anyone who has not read it yet:

  135. Bryan Nov 6th 2012

In Jesus Day, the vast majority of the Jews did not believe in Jesus as the Messiah even though Jesus fulfilled over 300 hundred prophecies concerning the Messiah before the people of Israel; yet, the people and the scholars rejected Him. Now, of course, this rejection was part of God’s plan. However, in the days of Elijah, Elijah himself asked God, Am I the only one left who believes in God since he saw so many worshipping Baal. God said no I have 7,000 who have not worshipped Baal and follow God’s law. 7,000 was a small portion of all of Israel at the time. How many of the generation that came out of Egypt made it to the Promised land? How many survived the flood with Noah? The point I am making is, basically, more or less, consistently throughout history, there is a pattern of few people actually belonging to, and following God’s ways, and everyone of them could only do so by God’s saving grace working in them. No Jew without God’s help could follow the law himself since they are totally depraved.

Matt 7: 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
^^^^ This verse is just as true today as it was in Noah’s, Moses, Elijah’s, and Jesus days.

So, I put forth todays falling away, as great as it may seem, has happened before many times.

  136. Steve and Brian, This is off topic but i feel i must comment. I avoid doctrines (teachings) of/about devils like the plague. For me there is one vital scripture in N.T “resist the devil and he will flee from you” because “if our eye is single for the Lord …..then our whole body is full of light” and therefore by inference there can be no “variable shadow of turning” i.e. no darkness at all! Sadly this is not taught to many Christians and they never understand that every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust! (James 1 14). Instead they are encouraged to blame the devil as Eve did, and then endeavour (more often than not with prolonged and dramatized theatricals that make, i believe, a mockery of Christ in us) to “cast him out”. When scripture plainly says in the first place it was their own fault

The flood of deception started in the Garden as a whisper “Did God say? ……” God had said “you shall surely die” EVe came up with the alternative, “God said we might die” a convenient lie made when she “saw the fruit was good for food, pleasing to the eye and to be desired to make one wise like God ” The lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”! I am proposing that the much vaunted “discerning of spirits’ is better translated as “understanding the spirituals” as 1 Cor 12: reads in Y.L.T. – “And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant”
The devil by some in ignorance is given undeserved, unwise, unnecessary, attention and kudos
    Pr Michael

  137. Nila Yeo Nov 6th 2012

I wish to thank you for your testimony of God’s grace, mercy and protection through the storm.

  138. Michelle Nov 6th 2012

Let’s look at this from a different angle maybe. In this life, there are storms. Both natural and spiritual that come. It comes on all people no matter their faith.

God is looking for those who trust Him within those storms of life. For those who do not place their trust in Him, it is seen as judgment, and rightly so. For those who do place their trust in Him, it is an opportunity to return to Him, which is called repentance or reformation of that person’s soul. Those storms then, can actually show the amazing grace of God.

God does not move. He stays in the same place as He always has. It is those who are Christians that move away from Him. For those who do not know Him, He punishes. For those who do know Him, He chastises with the very same storms of life.

It is the repentance of Christians, as in their actions of coming back to Him that steers the ship, and becomes the testimony and witness to those who are going through the storm shaking their fist and rising in pride and rebellion.

If the nation stays in the mindset of rebuilding with pride and defiance, rather than allowing the storms to humble it, then there will be more and more severe storms that come. Some weather, and natural disasters, and some from other nations or men upon it. It is a tool of God to develop those souls He calls His own in righteousness.

  139. Barry Schmidt Nov 6th 2012

Lively discussion here as usual! Thanks Andrew for your always gracious responses! Unlike Andrew I feel that while my comments were true- I did not accurately represent the kindness of our God in my comments. However I admit to getting impatient with so much reasoning that sounds so spiritual but has little foundation in sound biblical revelation.

Having said that here is what Gods word says regarding these Udiagrams hips and every other disaster that comes to the children of men:
” Whenever a disaster comes to a city has not the LORD CAUSED IT”

so the simple answer to Andrews question, ” Is God judging America?” is YES INDEED. GOD CAUSED IT!!! God in His own word unapologetically says that HE caused it!!!
Having said that God also causes it when every other disaster hits every other city in the world. Here are some things that reveal Gods love and mercy to the US. Compare the death toll in the Tsunami that hit Asia and Africa ( and recently Japan) and compare that to the death tolls of Americans in all of the 8 divine disasters that have been visited upon the USA in the last 11 years!!! Compare the measly 9- 10% USA unemployment rate to the nascent economic devastation from the global financial melt in hundreds of poorer countries in the world where there is now up to 80% unemployment.

Also the rest of us from the nations of the earth should consider this before we point fingers to the USA:
” Wail o Cypress trees , for the Cedar has fallen” Zechariah 11:2
In other words YOURS IS A COMIN!!!!

  140. Johan Laubser Nov 6th 2012

And so we all are overflowing with opinions…I am supposed to be lead by the Holy Spirit. What did He tell ME about the storms, spiritual or phisical? When America vote in their president today, will he be the best person for the job because the majority said so? Will we all feel better and more secure if our opinions kind of sound the same? I tell you today, if you hear from the Lord concerning this, your opinion will not be accepted but scoffed at. He is a God of individuals and is not corparate or group focussed. People ,in Jesus name, ask Him what this mean for YOU!

  141. Barry Schmidt Nov 6th 2012

One more thought just came to me:
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. (Revelation 3:19 NASB)

” thr wraith of God is being revealed…therefore He ( God) gave them
over to do what ought not to be done” Romans 1:21

Is God judging America? ACcording to these verses God is FINALLY LOVING AMERICA!!!
According to these verses God is finally LIFTING HIS JUDGEMENT OFF OF AMERICA!!!!
According to these verses GOD HAS BEEN JUDGING AMERICA FOR THE PAST 150 years and is FINNALLY STARTING TO ADOPT AMERICA and is finally beginning to DISCIPLINE AMERICA as a Father disciplines His son!!!

  142. Richard Savage Nov 6th 2012

Barry, just excellent, again. My thanks, again.

Now we’re turning a corner in our understanding. Moving from automatically seeing a disaster as a judgement of God for unrighteousness to a disciplining of His people, the believing community. Do not all things work for good to those that love the Lord, who are called according to His good purposes?

Some will say, if this is God’s love towards us, no thank you … the world’s a better place. That’s a difficult thing for the Lord God to bear, but, He has given us free will, which makes our love towards Him more valuable to Him. It’s our free will.

Don’t expect the churches to fill up because they won’t. Many there will be who fall away, but those who are truly His will echo the words of Job: The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, and, Even though He slay me, yet will I praise Him.

There are those on here who will say, what do you know about disaster the other side of the Pond? And you might be right! Yet, we Brits aren’t immune to these things.

Be encouraged my American brothers and sisters: The Lord is on your case, and it just gets better from here, but perhaps not in a way you would expect.

  143. watchful Nov 6th 2012

I’m with those who are saying that this kind of speculation is fruitless. Unless the Lord REVEALS what He is saying and doing we will certainly not arrive at the truth with our carnal reasoning and calculations.

One thing He did reveal by His Spirit through a dear humble brother who shared it and that I now pass along here is that through this recent storm the Father was reminding that we need to be in readiness, be prepared with lamps full of oil and our storehouses stocked. There was no word of judgment in this revelation, it was just precious and beautiful and simple, though I suppose it’s always possible He was disciplining some individuals just as I myself need and am often subjected to His discipline. But to keep in mind that the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike, so we mortals never can tell can we? Of course not, we are not God! And so the question needs to be asked, is it therefore really any of our business how God might be dealing with another…?

What I’m learning at long last is that I have to first and foremost apply the truth to myself before I can in any way even think of applying it to others the way the Father intends. Otherwise I am still blind myself while trying to lead the blind. Guess that’s why I’m a lot quieter than I used to be, lol! 😉

  144. grant Nov 6th 2012

Hi,You know I think God is geting a bad rap here.remember in the gospels were Jesus was out in the boat with his disciples and there arose a tempest,a storm, Jesus rebuked the storm.Who sent the storm God?,I don’t think so,otherwise Jesus rebuked his own storm ,also if God sends storms, sickness, bad things etc, then whats the devil doing here.Notice what Andrew said,God’s hand was lifted.Hand of what ,hand of protection off the USA.The same thing happens in our own life when where knot walking in the spirit. That leaves us open to satan and the law.

  145. Grazer, you wrote:……………………………………………….

“Point being: God is in full charge of every single thing that blesses and befalls us, from beginning to end, whether we like it or not. ~Such is the power and glory of God.

Don’t believe it?—read His book again.

So, what can we, Christian or otherwise, purposely do to help God turn things around and save the day?—Absolutely nothing, thank God.

About all that’s left for us to do is what His Christ already told us to do….stop judging others, try keep our own noses clean and help one another as God’s perfect plan unfolds before our eyes.”

How I love your reply; I say ditto. Of all the opinions, your post is absolutely scriptual and astute! It’s all been laid out for us and we still argue the case! How pecular His people are.

  146. Neville Nov 6th 2012

In Nahum Ch 1 you see the progression of judgments on a nation that rejects God. America is well down that list and heading for extinction as a nation

  147. ValleyAnt Nov 6th 2012

Bill Harper, that’s a nice poem. I like where you wrote: “A beautiful dream he dreamed, of a place where all men are free.” Amen. My favorite poem among those I wrote is titled ‘Dream’; it’s about my wife, however, not about justice, righteousness, and judgment. Too bad for an unhappy but realistic ending to your poem.

Michael, it was a blessing to read your experience with the cyclone. You wrote: “I avoid doctrines… about the devil like the plague…”, and you quote that we are to resist the devil so he will flee. Perhaps, if you linked that passage you quoted with the famous one in Eph. 6, you might realize that there’s a place, time, and meaning for everything. The Holy Spirit directed me to fast once so that He could uncover some of those demonic things to me that you avoid like the plague; a Christian, whom I asked for advice on the fast, then discouraged me from fasting, telling me that Christians are to ‘keep our eyes focused on Jesus’ (Christianese, etc.) and not satan. Humble-sounding words, but humility is obeying the Lord, not following ‘doctrines’. I decided to obey the Lord rather than this man, and in a few weeks, the Holy Spirit uncovered to me demonic roots to some major problems that many people in our country are struggling from but that most aren’t aware of. You tucked yourself away well during the cyclone, but tucking yourself away regarding this may, in these days when hidden things and mysteries will be revealed, cause you to take offense at and resist the Lord’s ways.

This forum never ceases to remind me that the terms ‘unity’ and ‘humility’ need to be redefined. Since we’re different people with different experiences, living different lives, and communicating over the internet, then we can’t really know each other or our gifts. Therefore, we should be more patient with each other’s views and, unless we are modern-day Grecian philosophers, employ that very thing that can literally make up for where we lack (where we lack here being face to face fellowship): prayer and agreement.

I agree with Andrew. Specially where he says that the USA has had such a dire warning because it is failing to fulfill its role as leading Christian nation.

The UK is similarly corrupted by its backsliding from Christian belief and making laws that attack Christian belief on such matters as redesigning marriage so as to include same sex couples and also allowing same sex couples to adopt children both based on man- made “Equality” instead of Christian belief in Biblical teaching on right and wrong.

However, we have had our warning in the Icelandic volcanic eruption
which grounded all the airliners in Europe and the UK.

Why is our Father blamed for all the tragedy in this world. It is a known fact that man is starting to control the weather to get control of the nations. How can we say as ministers of the Gospel that this is Gods judgement upon the earth. This is fallen mans judgement upon the earth, all of the corrupt leaders in offices all across the globe. They are getting worse and worse, but there is still light in Goshen. Where we are He watches over us and brings us through everything in this life. We are in the end of the end times, but look up because our redemption draws nigh. It breaks my heart to see all of this devastation called a judgement of God. I have been mandated by the Father for the last 45 years to love this earth. Did I make a big mistake. . doesn’t the good book say. Mercy ALWAYS triumphs over judgement. ???????? The Iatest orders I received from Him was this. Two days after Sandy hit new Jersey. He told me I have been sent to the world TO LOVE THE HELL OUT OF THEM. Only His love could accomplish that. I rest my case. Love you all in Christ, Marie

  150. Andrew Nov 6th 2012

Does a loving parent send “chastening” and discipline? Or just let things go?

“Those whom I love I rebuke and chasten” – Jesus.

    Is America being “chastened” today?

  151. Andrew, I agree with you. God is dealing with the US and , I believe, has been sending us stronger and stronger warnings since 1963. Almost a year ago I wrote down my thoughts in an blog post titled “When Prosperity is Judgement”.

  152. Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
    Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.
    Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
For the word of the Lord is upright,
And all His work is done in faithfulness.
    He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And by the breath of His mouth all their host.
    He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
    Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
    For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
    The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart from generation to generation.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
    The Lord looks from heaven;
    He sees all the sons of men;
From His dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
He who fashions the hearts of them all,
He who understands all their works.
    The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
    A horse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope for His lovingkindness,
To deliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive in famine.
    Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,
According as we have hoped in You.
    Psalm 33 (NASB)

And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For this is contained in Scripture:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone,
And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve,
“The stone which the builders rejected,
This became the very corner stone,”
    “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”;
for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
    1 Peter 2:4-10 (NASB)

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession,

These verses appear to me to be saying exactly the same thing…

We (the living stones) are this nation…

No matter if we lived before the cross or after the cross – we (those whose faith has been credited as righteousness) are this nation…

I might not be seeing this correctly but it appears correct to me…

“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
    Matthew 25:31-46 NASB

The way that we treat our brothers and sisters in the Lord is the mark of whether we really know the Lord or not…

  153. Andrew you have hit the nail right on the head about judgments.
These events are just warnings for the Three big ones that David Wilkerson talked about in his book ” The Vision.”
We definately are living the days of great Peril and one day closer to the Millinium when we shall see Righteousness rule.

  154. Russel Lynch Nov 7th 2012

Without a doubt we don’t have the protective hand of God over us.
And the extent of death and damage is far greater and severe unlike any time in our nations history. What worry’s me is the west coast. Los Angeles is the number one exporter of pornography in the world, and I have an erie sense of embending doom for the state of California. This state is extremely liberal in so many ways, but I’m very impressed with the love of God….cuz if I was God I wouldn’t have been this patient with California, America, and the rest of the world.

  155. Sheeja John Nov 7th 2012

God had impressed these words in my spirit and brought it to my rememberance three times, so I put it here.

And the Lord said to him “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.” – Ezekiel 9:4

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard them; so a Book of Rememberance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine”, says the Lord of hosts, “on the day I make them My Jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. – Malachi 3:16-18

YAHWEH bless those who weep and cry for all the abominations that are done in their city, country and world around. Lord in your great mercy, remember your servants. I Yeshua Ha Mashiach’ name we pray. Amen

  156. Sheeja John Nov 7th 2012

‘In Yeshua Ha Mashiach’ name we pray. Amen’

  157. ValleyAnt Nov 8th 2012

AJH, thanks for Ps. 33: “Let Your Lovingkindness, oh Lord, be upon us.” Amen. It reminds me of David’s “Salvation is from the Lord. May Your blessing be on Your people” and Moses’ “Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands” (Ps. 3:8, 90:17). Amen.

Sheeja John, thanks for those passages. As I read them, this one came to mind: “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls'” (Jer. 6:16). Amen.

And Lord, amen. May Your blessing be on Your People; and establish Your work and ours. Amen.

  158. I too was blessed by those two scriptures which Sheeja John shared ValleyAnt… 🙂

The part in Psalm 33 which really stood out to me after I’d posted it was,

    He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

    Beautiful, Praise You Jesus… 🙂

  159. ValleyAnt Nov 8th 2012

Amen, AJH. A prayer that keeps coming back to me and is probably fitting for these and coming times is Moses’ prayer in Ps. 90: “Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are you God.” Amen.

Ps. 33 says, “A warrior is not delivered… A horse is a false hope for victory… The eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, who hope in His unfailing Love.” That caught my attention because it used to be a favorite passage of mine along with where the same thought is repeated in Ps. 147: “He does not delight in the strength of a horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.” One of the translations shows that “mercy” as “steadfast Love”, a term I’ve always loved.

Yes, these are judgments. I’d like to share a dream from the Lord that I had on 5/14/12, and also share the interpretation.

The main scenes took place in my mother’s house. There were also three relatives in separate scenes at different points in my dream. In one scene my niece was in her mother’s house. The scene changed and my young, defiant grand-nephew was at his present age, but in another scene he was older with long hair. In the last scene, my nephew-a soldier-walked into my mother’s living room.

I believe that this dream speaks of the condition of my own family, the Church and this nation.

In my dream I was in my mother’s house and I walked into her living room. I saw a big hole in the corner of a rotting, insect-infested wooden floor. Large black insects with wings were crawling out of the hole and I could see more insects under the rotting wood. A few of the insects were flying around the living room. I left the room and closed the door.

My nephew, the soldier, suddenly appeared in my dream. I followed him as he walked into the living room to investigate the scene. He pointed out how sticky the floor was. We both saw a huge swarm of black insects moving as a single unit along the floor, and more insects flying around. Again, we quickly left the room and closed the door.

I then grabbed a can of bug spray and sprayed the swarm of insects. When I came back later they were dead, but stems of apples had grown out of some of the dead bugs. This is where my dream ended.

This is the interpretation of the dream:

My relatives represent the natural family and the Church.

My sister-in-law and her house represent her family.

My grand-nephew’s older age and long hair represent settled defiance and rebellion.

The insects (termites, roaches or beetles) represent an infestation of unclean spirits, secret or hidden sins; corruption and hidden destruction.

The living room represents the truth exposed…God exposing our sins, lies and deception.

The color black represents lack: sin; ignorance; evil; famine.

The rotting wood represents our lives corrupted, destroyed or devoured by sin.

The sticky floor represents cocoons of insects: widespread infestation of unclean spirits and secret sins in our families and in the Church.

My nephew, the soldier, represents spiritual warfare.

The bug spray represents refinement and judgment: the cleansing or killing of the flesh.

Death of the insects represents repentance or separation.

The stems from apples on some of the dead insects represent good or bad fruit: either the cleansing or killing of the flesh that produces repentance and the fruit of the spirit; or the fruit of the flesh that brings destruction and death.

I believe this dream is prophetic and has great significance for the church and our nation, and equal significance for us and our families.

I believe the cocoons-the widespread infestation of unclean spirits and sin-means that the we’re close to reaching a full measure of sin, and judgment upon judgment is coming.

Unless the Church awakens, repents and prays, a sword of terrible judgment is coming to America, but it will first visit the Church.

Daniel 9:14 says that the Lord keeps ready the calamity (evil), and brings it upon us.

Daniel 9:24 speaks of punishment, judgment and purging away of sin, sealed and decreed upon Jerusalem for an appointed time.

In chapters 18, 20 and 21 of the book of Ezekiel, God speaks of a people who defy Him and refuse to listen, a generation who break His laws and do not keep His commands, who profane the Sabbath and worship idols. The Lord says that the evil person who stops sinning and keeps His laws will live, but the righteous person who stops doing good and starts doing evil will die. God warns that in His anger He will rule over us with a strong hand, take firm control over us and make us obey His covenant, and take away those who are rebellious and sinful. He speaks of a fire that everyone will feel the heat of the flames from, that will spread from south to north, and nothing will be able to put it out.

In Isaiah 66:4, God says: “So I will bring disaster upon them-the very things they are afraid of-because no one answered when I called, or listened when I spoke. They chose to disobey Me and do evil.”

Isaiah 4:4 speaks of God purging the moral filth, pride, vanity and haughtiness, by the blast of judgment and burning and sifting.

It’s time to wake up from our slumber and stupor. It’s time to sound the alarm, stand in the gap, intercede and war for our families, the Church and this nation.

But repentance, restoration and revival must first start with us, and then our families.

May the Lord your God arrest our spirit, compel us to action, renew our strength, and direct and establish our hearts toward Him.

Let the shaking begin, and may the Lord our God establish His righteousness, and vindicate the holiness of His name in this land.

  161. Michelle Nov 8th 2012

Looking back at all the times Israel went against the Lord, judgment did come, but those who were walking with Him were used as a light in the darkness of that time.

I really do not see any difference in what is going on in America right now. Those prophets the Lord used were not under judgment themselves. They warned beforehand where Israel was going due to their decisions and actions, told them again when the warnings came to pass that they were under judgment for it, and then were there to embrace the people when they decided to return to the Lord in repentance.

Over and over again God’s character is clear in the OT. So, there is the perspective of those who are either falling away from God, those who have rejected God outright, and those who are standing firm in their faith no matter what they see going on in the physical. So, in the same storm, there are three words depending on the audience. Chastisement that leads to repentance, Judgment which will harden the hardhearted and unbeliever more, and encouragement for those who are actually walking the walk being guided by prayer and praise.

  162. Richard Savage Nov 8th 2012

Michelle, America is not the Covenant people; Americans are not living in a land leased to them indefinitely by Almighty God Himself. There is no place in the USA which God has placed His name on, no place the Word of the Lord will go forth from.

We may not be so cavalier with our comparisons.

This is the new Covenant; we are not come to Mount Sinai, but to Mount Tzion; there’s a Covenant of difference.

  163. Michelle Nov 8th 2012

    1Co 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
    1Co 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
    1Co 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
1Co 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
1Co 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
1Co 10:7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1Co 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
1Co 10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
1Co 10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

I was shocked to see that some people I had as facebook friends see Obama as a type of Messiah or Moses if you will. I didnt pay attention before and then I went to their wall and was totally shocked. They were encouraging almost demanding their own to vote FOR Obama and fight the evil principalities of the air which are Republicans. We were supposed to be Sisters in Christ. WOW-how crazy. God help us.

  165. peggy Nov 8th 2012

Christians are covenant. God said he is married to the backslider. God will bring them back because they belong to him. Many in America were shocked. Yes-its a wakeup call and it will take a fierce battle inch by inch to just make it through. I never wished this for my children and grandchildren. Someone made a comment that this is the white mans doing that the white man destroys everything he touches. WOW-so much hate in America.

  166. peggy Nov 8th 2012

It seems to me that people of the world are sitting back gloating about Americas judgement. Thats sad because when storms happen and disaster comes-who suffers? its the poor and needy. people live on the streets in America. Children sleep in cars by millions. As America goes-so goes the whole world. I live in a substandard trailer on a rez-so When storms happen-we have it tough. I still love Jesus and I am his own.

  167. Nila Yeo Nov 8th 2012

Peggy, I hope this is encouragement and an answer to your concern. I have this question concerning those who are preparing and storing up, what about the elderly, the poor who can’t do such things. All we need to do now is to stand- stand on Him, stand on His words and true, to stand firm. “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Eph. 6/13

    *I Will Save the Church-
I asked the Lord how would He save His people in the day of trouble? That I knew He had told Dumitru Duduman (read 2/4/04) that as You saved the 3 Hebrew children from the fire and Daniel from the den of lions, that’s how You would save the church. But I asked Him again, how would He save His people in the day of trouble?

He answered, “I will save the church, as I saved My people out of the land of Egypt. As I caused water to spring forth out of the rock, so will I cause water to spring up out of dry ground. As the children of Israel’s clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell, so shall it be for the church.”

I then realized the reality of the water from the rock. We in our human mind, think that just some water trickled out of a rock and watered (some) people in a desert. But then I realized how many people and animals that water actually supplied. Not just the people, but ALL the people and ALL the animals!

“I shall feed them manna from heaven, as I fed the Hebrew children 40 years.”

“As the widow spared not from My servant and gave her all to him, so it was that she and her son hungered not and was saved in their day of trouble. So shall it be for My people in your day of trouble. My people and all theirs shall not lack, if they continue to abide in Me.”

“As the wounds are anointed with oil and wrapped, you are to pray for them. The oil shall be as the balm of Gilead and their wounds shall be healed.”

“In the day of trouble, be not dismayed as not all shall survive. For a time is appointed unto each man and I shall call many home…” 4/7/04

  168. Nila Yeo Nov 8th 2012

Upon re-reading some comments, I have to also agree that America is not the new covenant or new Isreal. This seems to be a common discussion in my little area on this massive planet, but I stay silent as they won’t listen to what I might believe or think, or try to show them in the Bible and I won’t argue with them, so I’m getting it out here. Sorry and thank you, though you may not agree with me, that’s OK also.

  169. Scott Nov 8th 2012

America has kicked God out of the class rooms and unto the street. Any symbals of God the ACLU wants to wipe them out. In New York State it is permissable to view kiddie porn. Not to have it on the computer . But view it.
4 more States has voted for same sex marriage. The media spewing a pro sinful lifestyles and glorifing it. America God is judging this day. Having said that My God is using these weather judgements to bring people salvation and restoration in there hearts and minds.

  170. Michelle Nov 8th 2012

How mistaken a conclusion to say that because God will deal the same with America as He has with Israel, that America has replaced Israel.

It is the character of God that is equated, not one nation replacing another, or one people replacing another.

To not know God’s character as He has shown through the nation of Israel, and the people of Judah is to miss a large part of who He is.

  171. Nila Yeo Nov 8th 2012

“4 more States has voted for same sex marriage.” If Sodom, Gomorrah, Pompeii and others were Judged for their (specific) sins, how is it that America won’t be for our abominations? How can people not say that we’re not under Judgement?

The Bible talks of things, especially in these last days, consider the following verses:
    (2 Timothy 3:1-7)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

    (Romans 1 :18-31)
    18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them.
20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
    28And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

But He has promises for His own, Psalms 91 for on. He even says that He knows them that are His and calls them by name and they know His voice. So the personal question for each and every one of us is are we His and if not, what are we going to do about it? The choice is ours, gotta love that free will.

    A Lamentation 12.8.11

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

A Lamentation is flowing out of the Throne of Grace.
A Lamentation is also flowing from My own heart.
O My Bride, My Bride how you have forsaken Me.
My Bride, My Bride how you have strayed.

Why have you chosen another in My place?
Why have you not seen Me for Who it is that I am.
I am from He who is I AM.
Yes, a Groom. The Savior, The Kinsman Redeemer.

Why have you forsaken to come to Me for your cleansing.
Is My sacrifice thus been in vain?
I love you with and everlasting love.
A pure love from He who sent Me.
This sentiment is for all ages through all eternity.

    But you have strayed.
I would have you next to Me in your rightful place,
but you have not seen fit to come to Me.
My Father would have you come to Him for your communion,
but you would not hear My voice speaking out.

How long must I strive with you in this generation?
How long will you turn your face from Me?
I have strove to gather you for protection,
But you have gone your own way.

You have stumbled and you have fallen

You have brought to nought all I have said
For I have spoken to this generation in parables of old

Through the parables of old have I spoken,
Through the Words of My Prophets I have spoken forth
By the Words of My Father have I spoken
I have said to repent of your ways and come to Me
    But you have not heard

I have plead with you to come to My Fathers Throne of Grace
Only through My spilt blood of redemption
You have set up a false god in your own imaginations
You have in your vain pride stripped your access to the Father

Why have you turned your face from Me?
Why have you not seen Who I am?
Why are you stubborn in your own mind?
And yet, still I plead. Still there is sorrow.

    But this sorrow is turning.
It will turn to a Righteous Indignation.
Even now, the stench from the saints is rising
It does not honor My Father.
It does not please My own soul.

There is a Judgment coming unto this generation
It is coming and has been loosed upon them
They have been warned, and have been pleaded with
But they only throw the stones and only mockery is heard

You will know Who it is that I am before I turn My hand away
Before it is finished you will understand
You will then come back to Me for your cleansing
And understand how to know The Father

The very heart of the Father is shown in Me
I speak nothing but what the Father says
I do nothing but what the Father would have me do
This is true, and I am THE MEDIATOR between you and HIM.

I am the Name above all names. I will come again.
We will set up His Kingdom here on this earth,
and My government shall have no end.
Joint heirs with Me, yes, you will be.

But I will be the King over all kings,
and our Father is God of all gods. He will not share
His GLORY with another. For He is HOLY.
I have all authority, but He is all authority.

This is the sadness felt within. A despair for My lost.
They will come back to Me through the judgments
For I will bring unto them ashes so they will know beauty
I will bring mourning so they will know My joy

I will then anoint them with oil,
and spread a table in the face of their enemies
My Bride will trample on serpents and scorpions
The venom will become null and void

I will bind up their wounds, and I will come unto them
They will worship My God in spirit and in truth
They will once again come to Him with a pure heart
As the pride is burned away as chaff in the wind

Humility will then rule the day in the life of My Bride
They will fight their battles, and their power will contend
They will overcome the tribulations with the oil of joy
Provision comes on the wings of praise to The Father above

I will give unto them the spirit of Truth
I will give unto them the spirit of Faith
I will give unto them the spirit of Righteousness
I will give unto them the spirit of Peace
Just as I have given unto them Salvation

I am the whole armour of God, for I am the Word of God
I am in My Father, just as He is in Me
Just as I am in you, and you are in Me

You know the Father because you know Me
The Father knows you because you know Me

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life
You have come to the Father because
    you have come through me.

I am His only begotten Son.
I am His Christ who came in the flesh
I am interceding at His right hand
I take away the sins of the world
All those who come to Me I will make clean

Come to Me My Bride. Do not tarry, for the hour is late.
Your Bridegroom is calling. Fill your lamps with My oil
My oil of gladness will never cease.
This is the oil that cannot be touched or taken away

I anoint you with My oil of gladness, My Beloved.
For you are precious to Me.
Our Father holds you in high esteem
And He calls you His Own

No matter the road left to tread
No matter the darkness still ahead
No matter the giants yet to fall
Overcome by My blood and your testimony

Come back to me My Bride.
Come back and be made Holy..

This was my exact conversation with my friend yesterday & again today.. We need to be a blessing to the Nation & not a curse, We need to speak the truth in love, to love those who are unloveable, to reach the unreachabke & touch the untouchable.. God is IN THIS!!!!

Looking back at these comments and what is happening, I believe that those who say America is under God’s judgment and those who say America isn’t under God’s judgment are both right. There are times in the Bible where it shows both God and satan or/and man behind a thing. In such cases, if one asked, “Is this thing of God or not (or of satan or man, etc.)”, the proper answer could only be, “Yes.” It appears that way now.

Someone in the comments above rightly quoted Joel 2:17 which says, “Let the priests, who minister before the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar…” Oh Lord, turn the hearts of our leaders back again, and bring them back to walk again in the nobility and high honor of responsibility and obedience. Amen.

More relevant is the question “Is the apostate church under judgement?”

The answer, of course, is a resounding YES!

  176. Michelle Nov 9th 2012

The problem is that everyone thinks the other guy is apostate and does not consider that they themselves need to repent.

The Eye Is the Lamp of the Body Luke 11:
33No man, when he has lighted a lamp, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a lampstand, that they who come in may see the light.
34The lamp of the body is the eye: therefore when your eye is sound, your whole body also is full of light; but when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness.

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are counterfeits?

I see pride as the main problem in the Western Christian. In the normal person who is professing to be a follower of Christ. The Lord will only bring on the chastisement necessary in order to humble the Bride of Christ.

If judgment begins in the house of God, then that means us. Our own selves, our own walk. Let’s start with doing those things that are usually told to the apostate church in our own lives, and then the power of God will rise up to defeat the darkness coming.

  177. ValleyAnt Nov 9th 2012

Fred, the question of what’s of God and what isn’t is always primary. Also, I don’t see any apostate church under judgment. They seem to be having a great deal of fun. In fact, Obama’s re-election and the effects of it may help to bring some back-slidden Christians into repentance.

Michelle, I agree. I’ve often grieved for Christian leaders in America, but I need to not focus so much on them that I’m too grief-stricken to be any good. We should always remember mercy when things are bad.

Pro 1:27 Disasters will strike you like a storm. Problems will pound you like a strong wind. Trouble and misery will weigh you down…

Pro 1:29 That is because they hated knowledge. They refused to fear and respect the LORD.
Pro 1:30 They ignored my advice and refused to be corrected.
Pro 1:31 They filled their lives with what they wanted. They went their own way, so they will get what they deserve.
Pro 1:32 “Fools die because they refuse to follow wisdom. They are content to follow their foolish ways, and that will destroy them.
Pro 1:33 But those who listen to me will live in safety and comfort. They will have nothing to fear.”

    Michelle & Andrew J. Horton, – AMEN!!!

Some good comments here, certainly needed discussing, – thanks Andrew!

Psalm 33 :12 says, : “ Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord ”. Is America’s God the Lord at this time ? Certainly not !!!! America has forsaken the living God to serve idol gods and has neglected Israel.
The troubling events that are happening to America at this time are God’s wake-up warnings. The Lord God is exceeding merciful and patient, especially for the sake of the faithful Christians in America.God is giving first the warnings and the chance to repent and if America doesn’t repent and return to God,
then God will certainly judge America severely.
